Job Title: Respiratory Technician 

Location: Lagos

Position Summary

  • Your goal in this position is to promote a patient and family centred care approach.
  • You will take a leadership role in advocating and providing exceptional health care to patients and families. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.
  • This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families on a practical level.
  • You will do this by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of care providers in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.
  • You have clinical expertise, competence, and technical skills as related to the position that will be further furnished with additional training. You are also flexible to changing priorities and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • You have great interpersonal skills, and you effortlessly connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families.

Duties 
Duties may include, but not limited, to the following:

  • Participate collaboratively within interprofessional healthcare teams with adult
  • Take inventory of machines and masks
  • Learn about the various products and manufacturers providing sleep therapy
  • Efficient in administrative duties involving charting, documenting and communication
  • Educate physicians and patients on Obstructive/ Central Sleep Apnea
  • Administer therapy to treat CSA/ OSA
  • Conduct comprehensive sleep apnea testing with patients
  • Analyze sleep data to determine diagnosis
  • Provide support to other medical teams regarding the collaboration of sleep testing
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers and health care professionals in respiratory care
  • Demonstrate the ability to lift and position patients and related equipment.
