Job Title: Staff Nurse (Theatre Nurse)

 Yola, Adamawa
Department: AUN Health Center

Description

  • The American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking for a Staff Nurse. This position is local position and opens to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.

Summary of Position

  • The Staff Nurse is charged with the responsibility of assisting in the assessment and implementation of patient care needs within the operating theatre and ensure all patients are treated in a professional manner and that confidentiality is adhered to
  • He/she will also provide skilled assistance without direct supervision to demonstrate procedures to the staff as required as well as performing operating theatre practice in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Nursing Certificate
  • Valid License to practice/Nursing registration
  • Minimum of Two (2) years of direct work experience
  • Basic Nursing Ethic
  • Ability to undertake self-directed tasks when necessary.
  • Flexible with time.
  • Ability to learn
  • Attention to detail.
  • Capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.

  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques

Job Title: NFS Mathematics Teacher
Location:

Department: Foundation Programs

Description

  • The American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking for a Mathematics Teacher. This position is local position and opens to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.

Summary of Position

  • The Mathematics Teacher will be charged with the responsibility of helping students understand Mathematics and additional computational aspects of learning mathematics as required.
  • The duties will range from encouraging a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and the preparation of course work, planning of classes and the marking of completed work. Additionally the incumbent will also set targets for his/her pupils and monitor progress towards its achievement within the context of established policies and procedures of the University and the School.
  • He/ She will implement and deliver a balanced and relevant curriculum for the students that will support the overall Mathematics curriculum of the New Foundation School.
  • He/she shall also monitor and support the overall progress and development of the students both as a teacher and a mentor.

Position Requirements

  • A good first degree in mathematics or any science related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution. A masters degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience teaching mathematics.
  • Participation in student academic, exercise and social activities.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong counseling skills.
  • Demonstrate skills in using Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing circumstances at workplace.
