The managing directorof Katsina Agricultural Development Agency (KTARDA) Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Musawa made the revelation while declaring workshop training open for the N-agro beneficiaries held at EEC hall in Katsina.

Below are the four main reasons why Katsina govt will retain N-agro beneficiaries:

1). Inadequate Agricultural Extension Workers: Katsina state right from it inception has been suffering from shortage of Agric extension workers. The current farmers to extension workers ratio in the state is 500 which is far from sustainability.

2). Most of the staff in the State Agricultural Development Agency (KTARD) and other Agricultural parastatals in the state has attained the age of retirement. However, in order to fill the gap, hence the need to recruit more workforce.

3). Gov. Masari’s Administration is committed to the development of Agriculture in the state as it key priority and avenue for sustainable economic development.

4). Governor Masari during his electioneering campaign has promised to create employment to the teaming youths in the state especially in the abandoned sector of Agriculture.
