We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Assistant (DTM/Field Operations)

Context

  • Working Under the overall supervision of the Programme Officer (DTM) Maiduguri, and under the direct supervision of the Project Officer (DTM), the successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for the implementation, oversight and coordination of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) operational activities.
  • S/he will coordinate, in close collaboration with the partners on the field, the data collection process and analysis in the region (s) s/he has been assigned to;

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and implement strategies to collect, analyze and disseminate data on IDPs in close collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) and other relevant partners on the field.
  • Provide training and support to relevant partners on data collection and analysis based on the DTM’ methodology and tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate the DTM operations, identifying areas of improvement and enhanced efficiency.
  • Be responsible for all administrative arrangement on the field including payment of staff, review, adjustment and endorsement of bills and invoices.
  • Be responsible for sending the information collected on the field on a timely manner and according to the standards and requirement of the DTM program.
  • Keep abreast of all stakeholders and interagency assessments, reports and relevant material related to Internally Displaced Persons.
  • Prepare narrative report regarding the implementation of activities on a weekly basis.
  • Represent the DTM program in all meetings, events organized at the local level.
  • Plan staff deployment and movement to all locations
  • Ensure proper utilization of available resources
  • Build the capacity of the IOM staff involved in DTM activities.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum four years’ experience (Two Years for University Degree holders) in Humanitarian, Political or Social Science or related field;
  • Experience in statistical tools, reporting, liaising with government authorities advantageous; preferably within the international humanitarian field;
  • Previous working experience with NGOs or international organizations is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is an advantage. Requires the technical skills to use design software programs mentioned above and possess a general interest and aptitude for learning new technology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting to multiple audiences (e.g., technical and non-technical, government circle)
  • Inter-personal skills and very sociable disposition stemming from proven experience

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Native Language; Fluency in multiple languages advantageous;

Job Title: Junior Finance Assistant

Organizational Unit: Resource Management (Finance)
IOM Classification: G3
Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term (SST) Grade Equivalent Contract (Renewable)
Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

Context

  • Working under the overall supervision of the Resource Management Officer and the direct supervision of the Finance Analyst in close coordination with the Finance Team, the staff will;

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • Assist with the Archiving and ensuring filing system is efficient and effective
  • Ensure filing is up to date and done serially in the store.
  • Retrieving of Finance documents within the Finance Unit.
  • Assist in coordinating record keeping of all relevant Finance documents to ensure that the unit’s specific documents are accurate and up-to-date;
  • Assist in Carrying out financial transactions
  • Distributing cheques for pickup, mailing or depositing;
  • Assisting audit preparation for interim and year-end.
  • Maintaining safe processing of all finance related records, i.e. photocopying, mailing
  • Performing such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree from an accredited academic institution, in a field of study related to Finance, Business Administration, Management and any other Social Science Related Courses or the equivalent combination of work experience in a related area.
  • Knowledge of Finance
  • Minimum Three Years (One Year for Degree Holders) in related field; preferably within the United Nations or the International Humanitarian Field;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project formulation, administration and evaluation techniques and practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; Proactive; Independent Worker; A great team player; Fast Learner; IT Literate; Interpersonal Skills; Administrative & Time Management Skills; Financial Acumen Advantagous;

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Native Language; Fluency in multiple local dialects advantageous;
