Oasis Africa Consulting Limited – Our client is a prominent Investment Banking outfit in Africa. Its headquarters is in Lagos, Nigeria. We are mandated by our client to recruit suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: Trade Finance Analyst

Location: Lagos
Division: Project & Structured Trade Finance
Reports to: Team Lead, Structured Trade Finance/M&A

Summary

  • Reporting directly to the Team Lead, Structured Trade Finance/M&A, the job holder will work primarily on Trade/Structured Finance transactions.
  • The job holder will also be involved in transactions originating from other desks within Investment Banking, such as Capital Markets and Financial Advisory.

 

Qualifications

  • First degree or its equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) – five (5) years cognate experience in  trade finance
  • Appropriate post-graduate or professional qualifications such as an MBA, CFA, MSC in Finance, ACCA or ACA would be beneficial

Responsibilities 
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and execute key supply chain finance solutions such as invoice/receivables discounting, securitized/collateralized debt and syndicated loans.
  • Provide financial advisory services to identified clients using our trade finance and structured finance products.
  • Review of credit applications and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyse credit requests, financial statements and properties/assets to determine viability of the credit, feasibility, risk of granting such credit and computation of repayment schedules.
  • Perform client due-diligence as well as fundamental financial, business analysis and valuation of companies.
  • Prepare credit assessment/deal memorandum for credit committee approval.
  • Monitor performance of facilities.
  • Maintenance of Insurance database.
  • Manage day-to-day information flow with clients and third-parties in a transaction execution setting.
  • Research and prospect trade finance targets within specified sectors.
  • Stay current on legislations governing Trade Finance within the Client’s jurisdiction
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Francophone Associate

Location: Lagos
Reports to: MD, Investment Banking

Summary

  • The job holder will work across key areas of corporate finance transactions (project finance, mergers, acquisitions and disposals, equity and debt capital markets.) and strategic review work.
  • The job holder will be in charge of the business development of these key areas in African Francophone countries. Also he/she will assist the management of our Client to set up an office in Senegal to cover African Francophone activities.
  • The scope of sectors will include public company and private equity transaction (e.g. management and institutional buy-outs, debt and equity fundraising).

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Originating and executing Investment Banking mandates across Africa with an emphasis on French speaking countries.
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling, due diligence and valuation to develop business case for potential investment projects.
  • Origination & execution of transactions
  • Industry research and analysis
  • Desktop analysis of businesses (financials, markets, products, competitors) and financial modeling
  • Meeting new businesses and existing contacts
  • Preparing a pitch document (including industry research)
  • Undertaking risk management and compliance procedures
  • Writing investor presentations, teasers and /or information memorandum (sales documents)
  • Contacting prospective buyers, handling the bid process and assessing bids
  • Assisting management with their presentation to bidders, project managing the due diligence process
  • Providing commercial input to legal documentation
  • Negotiating key terms and conditions of the transaction, and project manage the process and liaising with all key parties
  • Assist the team lead in the evaluation of complex structured transactions and advise on financial risks.
  • Ensure the timely preparation of transaction documents.
  • Support members of the Investment Banking team
  • Draft advisory reports and presentations to clients
  • General research to support pitches and advisory reports
  • Preparing proposals, pitches and engagement letters to clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Management, Economics Finance, Accounting, Banking or other Finance related discipline from a reputable university with a minimum qualification of a second class degree required. Additional professional qualification or a Masters will be an added advantage
  • Up to 6 years in a similar capacity within a Financial Services environment
