Job Title: Head, Board Governance Centre

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Overview

  • In line with KPMG’s desire to ensure that key roles are filled by best in class talent with the requisite skills and experience, we seek to hire a lead for our Board Governance Centre initiative. This role will be responsible for certain key strategic initiatives for our Board advisory services

Detailed Job Description

  • Develop marketing initiatives to attract new visitors to KPMG’s governance site
  • Supervise content for all pages on the portal and provide assistance to internal and external users of the portal
  • Supervise the maintenance of portal layout and functionality of the portal
  • Keep the contents of the portal up-to-date
  • Integrate new technologies unto the portal and coordinate with web administrators for implementation
  • Maintain a status for all portal projects and assist to resolve all issues for new and existing KPMG social media channels utilised for governance related content
  • Periodically monitor and analyse portal metrics to determine performance levels
  • Scan industries, websites of listed and medium/large companies to identify potential candidates for directorships on Boards and obtain their profiles/CVs
  • Develop and continually maintain an up-to-date database of directors profiles and CVs for future board placements
  • Work in conjunction with the IARCS team to organise annual training courses, inductions & certification sessions for potential directors
  • Work in conjunction with the IARCS team to execute Director search engagements for KPMG clients
  • Implement approved marketing initiatives to attract companies to patronise the Director database
  • Occasionally, organise corporate governance events to enhance awareness of KPMG’s governance capabilities
  • Develop and publish periodic governance content to the governance portal to keep existing members interested and attract visitors to the site
  • Create and deploy initiatives to promote KPMG’s governance presence in the Nigerian market including conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Develop monthly newsletter to be issued to Directors
  • Maintain a database of Directors and Company Secretaries for future engagements and publications
  • On an annual basis, develop KPMG Boardroom agenda and Board room question publications
  • Work with markets / IARCS Board advisory team to improve KPMG footprints in the Boardroom
  • In conjunction with markets, develop and implement a Board room masterclass or building partner confidence.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Social Sciences is required (minimum of second class lower)
  • A certification in governance is an added advantage
  • Membership of relevant governance/secretarial/legal association
  • Six (6) to eight (8) or more years of experience of working in a governance/ public relations related position
  • Experience in supporting stakeholders at the Board and senior management
  • Experience in managing an administrative function
  • Previous experience in company secretariat duties is an added advantage
  • Experience in Board training and facilitation is an added advantage.
