All our solutions are accompanied by comprehensive maintenance services, to ensure the solutions run 365 days a year. We are currently operational in Ghana and Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Solar Project Engineer / Engineering Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description

  • We are looking to engage a competent and experienced Project Engineer to execute projects in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management:

  • Develops a project plan to execute a sales contract
  • Design and plan solar power installations;
  • Leads the supply chain process to order parts internationally and locally
  • Leads and trains the solar installers
  • Conduct quality assurance of technical installations of both Daybreak Power’s team as well as the installations of our technical partners;
  • Direct, coordinate and supervise the installations of solar power solutions;
  • Trains client on how to operate and optimally use the system

Field Service:

  • Resolves site issues remotely and through site visits
  • Ensures customer satisfaction

General:

  • Develop standard operating procedures and HSE standards for solar installation work.
  • Develop and coach technical staff to meet the objectives of Daybreak Power Solutions Limited in Nigeria;
  • Introduce best-engineering practices in the company to ensure it is at the forefront of innovation and good management practices
  • Review technological trends in the local and global energy sector;
  • Liaise with regulatory and governmental institutions as required.

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Preferably Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical
  • Must be proud of your work, take ownership, and be passionate about quality of workmanship
  • Must have prior experience installing AC coupled solar systems, Battery inverters, and generators
  • At least 3 years (5 years for Engineering Manager) of Engineering experience in the solar industry
  • PMP Certificate a plus
  • Work well in a team environment & have good communication skills
  • French language proficiency is an advantage
  • Flexible to travel domestically and Internationally

Working conditions:

  • Approximately 30% of time shall be spent in an office environment. The remaining time shall be spent in the field.

Physical requirements:

  • The Engineer shall be capable of lifting up to 20kg; stand for an extended period of time; work in outdoor environment.

Direct reports:

  • This position may have Solar technicians directly report to them.

Job Title: Customer Account Specialist

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description

  • We are looking to engage a competent and experienced Customer Account Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer experience to our clients, including performance reports, service calls, fault clearing, etc.

Job Responsibilities
System/Site Monitoring:

  • Maintains schedule for preventive maintenance based on commissioning dates and company standards.
  • Maintains schedule for routine site visits.
  • Collects site data – run hours, fuel consumption, grid supply, etc.
  • Client grid bill management – receipt and payment.
  • Sends monthly invoice and tracks completion of Job Completion Certificate.
  • Monitors payment from clients.
  • Ensures constant site communication.
  • Monitors site event ticket work flow, from issuing to closure.

System Reporting:

  • Collects system performance information (Gen/Grid availability, PV Yield, Battery charge/discharge, etc.) from inverter platforms daily.
  • Prepares monthly report for each site per client SLA.

Customer Interaction:

  • Monthly phone calls/emails (depending on client preference) to clients to receive feedback on system performance.
  • Clients’ first point of contact to the Daystar Power Service Team – fault reports, service calls, comments, questions, etc.
  • Interprets clients’ specific contracts to answer basic questions like when payment is due, when reports are due, services provided by Daybreak Power Solutions at specific site, etc.
  • Collate results of NPS survey conducted by Service team.

Database/Inventory Management:

  • Regular update of customer contact records.
  • Monitoring and renewal of data package for inverter.
  • Monitoring of equipment replacement as applicable.

Requirements

  • Relevant Higher Education Diploma preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) – report writing and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; work well in a team environment.
  • Highly organized multitasker who works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience handling customer interaction is a plus.
  • Must be proud of your work, take ownership, and be passionate about quality of workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company.

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Descriptions

  • The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide manufacturing technical support, ensure design for producibility / cost and help direct the technical strategy for sourced components.
  • In the Senior Manufacturing Engineer role, you will provide costing estimates based on historical data and experience, lead resolution to manufacturing technical problems to relieve constraints, and use experience to solve problems, develop, and execute objectives.
  • You should enjoy digging working in a fast-paced environment and digging into details while staying focused on the goal.
  • You must be able to balance cost, quality and time when managing a project. You will be based in Lagos and report directly to Daystar Power Group’s Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive collaboration between design engineering, product line owners, sourcing and manufacturing shops to establish and continuously improve entitlement cost, delivery and quality of end product
  • Ensure manufacturing producibility and cost efficiency of new designs and changes
  • Work with suppliers to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure lowest part cost and cycle times
  • Develop part cost estimates from engineering blueprints and solid model definition
  • Identify needs, communicate project approach and present outcomes of research done and recommendations for improvement
  • Deliver products as part of a team
  • Work on cross functional teams
  • Mentor and coach talent to ensure strong technical pipeline

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience with fabricating mechanical parts in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and extraordinary oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously at various stages
