Job Title: QA Engineer (Dev in Test) – Automation

Location: Lagos
Department: Engineering-Software Development
Employment Type: Full-Time
Minimum Experience: Experienced

What are we looking for?

  • You will be expected to work with the rest of QA team to own the overall quality of the container-based microservices we produce and working with the wider team to ensure a seamless experience for the users of our customer-facing products. You will need to drive the automation using sound testing principles to ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are all consistently met.

As part of the role you will:

  • Communicate with developer and PO to enhance Acceptance Criteria.
  • Create test cases.
  • Perform API testing using Postman (JSON and XML).
  • Use Kibana to track errors.
  • Create supporting QA documentation for new features.
  • Mentor Junior QA engineers.
  • Produce test plan for any feature under test.
  • Develop & Automate end to end tests using the test framework.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria – We want to emphasis that we don’t expect you to meet all of the below but would love you to have experience in at least one area:

  • Design, develop and execute test plans and test cases.
  • Build and improve the Automation Framework.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship for automation testing in the company.
  • Define, compose, and evaluate test plans for our platform and frontend products.
  • Translate business requirements into functional tests.
  • Implement and maintain automation scripts.
  • Contribute to functional, integration, performance, and regression testing.
  • Define and adhere to quality initiatives.
  • Provide metrics and results from all testing efforts that will support business decisions.
  • Work closely with engineering and product management to ensure quality in any release.
  • Update testing strategies appropriately.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in QA automation.
  • Knowledge of the Selenium and Appium test tools.
  • Experience with test automation framework such as TestNG, Cucumber, etc.
  • Knowledge of mobile emulators and mobile operating systems.
  • Knowledge of virtual and emulated mobile test environments.
  • Experience with QA-related tools for requirements management, test management, and defect tracking.
  • Experience in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery test environment.
  • Proficient in Agile development methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum) and processes.
  • API testing experience, either JSON and XML (both is a bonus).
  • Manual and Automation testing knowledge.
  • Confidence in writing acceptance criteria.
  • An understanding of the development lifecycle, software release process and defect management.
  • Exceptional analysis, reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of estimating work.

As a team, we’re responsible for designing, building, and operating our physical data centres, all of our networking, the services we consume from AWS, and the software we run on top like Kubernetes, Cassandra, DynamoDB, and Terraform.   • Experience building server-side applications using JavaScript (Node.js) and Java (Spring Framework).
  • Experience with VMs, containers and serverless computer platforms. (We use AWS for compute, e.g. EC2, ECS and Lambda)
  • Experience with networking, CDNs, HTTP and TCP/IP basics. (We use Cloudflare, AWS VPCs and many of our services implement JSON and/or GraphQL APIs)
  • Experience with operating systems, configuration management and “Infrastructure as Code”. (We use AMIs, Docker Images, Terraform)
  • Experience with monitoring applications (We use Amazon Cloudwatch, Datadog)
  • Experience with managing databases, caches and message queues. (We use Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis and Kafka)
  • Experience as a professional “DevOps”, “SRE” or “SysAdmin” roles
  • Experience working with programming languages (We mostly use NodeJS, Java or Scala but also Python, Javascript)
  • Ability to work with unfamiliar codebases, including internal, open-source and 3rd party code we depend on.
  • Knowledge of microservices (or SOA) and/or distributed systems.
  • Experience in Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and/or another automated testing.
  • Understanding of basic financial and accounting concepts.
  • Ability to write JavaScript in TypeScript and/or ES6.

Job Title: Information Security Analyst, Infrastructure Engineering

What are we looking for?

  • The information security analyst will plan and carry out security measures to protect Carbon’s computer networks, endpoints and systems. The individual will be responsible for security audits, assisting in vulnerability and administering security Infrastructure tools.

As part of this job you may:

  • Run a daily review of PCI DSS environment network traffic.
  • Run a daily call over of audit and systems logs of the PCI DSS environment.
  • Monitor security logs of critical public facing services.
  • Review Symantec Endpoints threat alerts.
  • Gather relevant Security Metrics for Information Security Report.
  • Manage Security incident tickets.
  • Monitor and follow-up of DLP, IPS and Antivirus exceptions & alerts.
  • Work with network engineers to analyze firewall activities.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria – We want to emphasis that we don’t expect you to meet all of the below but would love you to have experience in at least one area:

  • Experience in monitoring, analyzing and resolving security alerts generated from various sources (networks, servers, endpoints and other event logs).
  • Ability to conduct and manage vulnerability scans using external and internal tools.
  • Experience in reviewing and monitoring network security to respond in a timely fashion to security alerts, while performing initial triage and providing the necessary information to other team members when necessary to solve the alert.
  • Experience in running penetration tests on Technology Infrastructures,
  • Experience in running periodic security audits on current IT infrastructure and application software.
  • Ability to define and maintain an Information Security Incident Response Plan, including documenting security breaches.
  • Ability to manage and administer security infrastructure tools such as IDS/IPS, email gateway, web filtering and endpoint protection consoles.
  • Experience in reviewing all system implementation designs and plans to ensure sufficient security and recovery provisions have been included, updating the corporate DRP as appropriate, and ensuring appropriate provisions are made in the BCP.
  • Experience in researching the latest information technology (IT) security trends, best practices, threats, and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to develop security standards and best practices and recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff.
  • More than 1 and up to 2 years in as an Information Security Analyst relation job functions.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux Server, Bash, SQL and Wireshack
  • Expert knowledge of relevant security and privacy legislation.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle.
