We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Security Assistant

Location: Dikwa
Type of contract: Fixed Term

Role Purpose

  • The Security Associate is to assist in security risk assessments and management for Christian Aid Dikwa Field location as well as any other field locations within Borno State.
  • The post holder will manage field safety and security risks with possible impact on Christian Aid Nigeria staff, visitors, partners and the organization’s physical assets.
  • He/she will technically line-manage the guards within Dikwa field office whilst being answerable to the Security Advisor.

Role Context

  • The role fits within the International Department and specifically within the Nigeria country programme.
  • The individual is responsible for ensuring proper context monitoring, analysis and timely security information sharing with the Dikwa field team and the Security Advisor.
  • He/she will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of security for Dikwa Field office and the staff whilst interfacing with various security networks.
  • He/she will ensure field trip management and staff tracking.
  • He /she will ensure that the guards and drivers are proficient and trained in their respective role and duties.
  • The role holder will support in monitoring and supporting programmatic work by ensuring all staff and volunteers operate within Christian Aids Security policies and procedures.

Key Outcomes:

  • Strong and diverse information network (local, UN, INSO etc) are established from which reliable and up to date information on security may be obtained and applied by the team.
  • Sound cultural and situational advice, especially to the Base Lead and other Project teams.
  • Country Security Plan and SOPs implementation at field level. Proper Staff/visitor briefing on arrival to the field.
  • Support regular training of staff, drivers, guards and volunteers on safety, security and communications procedures.
  • Field security assessments carried out and provided to the Security Advisor as required.
  • Guard force management at field level. Proper accountability and maintenance of field safety, vehicle, communication & security equipment. Technical supervision provided for drivers on matters related to safety and security.

Applied skills/knowledge and expertise:

Essential:

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Administration or Business
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in security and safety management/logistics in an international NGO.
  • Field based experience in complex and insecure settings or relevant security overseas position.
  • Understanding of North East Nigeria social and political context and its impact on security; well informed and knowledgeable about Nigeria security trends and issues
  • Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
  • Excellent analytical skills.

Job Title: Logistics Officer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Reports to: Senior Operations Coordinator

Role Purpose

  • To contribute to Christian Aid humanitarian program in Borno state and to support the effective implementation of CAID funded projects across all locations in Borno state with support from Field based staff.

Role Context:

  • The Logistics officer will be stationed in Christian Aid Maiduguri office, Borno state
  • The Logistics Officer will focus on Logistics supports but also work in close cooperation with other Logistics and field staff to ensure that related Logistics issues are coordinated. S/he be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Logistics activities by coordinating with staff on the field and all stakeholders.

Key Outcomes:

  • Support the BSU team to conduct logistics needs assessments and identify needs in relation to Logistics activities in implementing locations.
  • Coordinate the distribution of all Agricultural inputs and livestock in all implementing locations
  • Prepare necessary documents for handling logistics of goods and services procured in accordance with donor and CA rules and regulations.
  • Ensure distribution of all materials according to the logistics plan using all relevant logistics documents.

Job Title: Administrative Officer

Role Purpose

  • The role provides an effective and efficient administrative support to the Humanitarian Response team to enable the smooth functioning of the office, facilities and equipment as well as day to day office operations.
  • The role holder ensures that procedures are followed, and standards are met and maintained.

Role Context:

  • This role works within the Business Systems Unit of the Nigeria office.  The role will be responsible for stock and inventory management, fixed assets management and day to day office running processes.
  • The role will also ensure that effective administrative processes in the deep field locations.
  • The post holder will ensure that systems are manitained and procedures are followed in all the sub-offices according to Christian Aid standard.

Key Outcome:

  • Facilitate the smooth flow of routine administrative work of the office and program support operations.
  • Ensure Christian Aid’s Office and Guesthouse are managed proactively and properly.
  • Manage office stock; maintain fixed assets and inventory register
