Job Title: Facility Manager

Location: Lagos
Reports To: Managing Director

Job Summary

  • The Facility Manager will direct and oversee preventative repairs and maintenance procedures to ensure the company buildings and equipment are well maintained and in optimal working condition while adhering to established health, safety and environmental standards.

Job Description

  • The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of the facility and manages the maintenance of buildings and the staff who perform this function.
  • Responsible for inspecting buildings to identify maintenance issues, such as clogged drains, leaky ceilings, faulty electrical switches and related issues received from tenants.
  • They report them and create work assignments for the staff.
  • Administrative duties include creating periodic reports, such as work schedules. Also maintain inventory, such as cleaning supplies, tools and office supplies.
  • The supervisor keeps the facility running efficiently by overseeing both personnel and equipment.
  • Assumes responsibility for the effective operations management of facilities;
  • Coordinates and arranges third party services of maintenance contractors, suppliers, vendors etc. Deals with contractors on daily basis.
  • Liaises with tenants with regards to operational problems
  • Responds to emergency call outs.
  • Day to day running, maintenance, and control of:
    • Assist with Tenant complaints
    • Security
    • Generator
    • Air Condition maintenance
    • Cleaning, Electrical, Plumbing etc
  • Authorise invoices for payment
  • Calculates operational cost for charge out to the tenants, ensure recoveries where appropriate.
  • Conducts periodic inspections of facilities, assesses problems and needs, and implements improvements in operations as appropriate.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities.
  • Ensures that the facilities are clean, well maintained, and in good repair.
  • Directs preventive maintenance procedure as appropriate.
  • Ensures that facility operations are in compliance with established procedures, policies, regulations and codes.


  • Knowledge of contract terms and practices used in administering contracts for services; inventory methods used to track materials used and on hand.
  • Minimum of B.Sc / HND discipline in a related field.
  • Professional qualification, certification in project management or MBA will be added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a related field.



  • Ensure the proper use and care of equipment.
  • Ensuring that all employees follow operating and usage policies.
  • Maintaining a clean facility by regular fumigation and proper cleaning.
  • Ensure all company facilities are adequately provided with the necessary items needed for their day to day function.
  • Ensure employees are credited with monthly airtime and data for office use and trackers for company vehicles.
  • Ensure all pool vehicles papers are always up to date.
  • A Liaison with printers and printing press for Staff Identity cards, business cards, and printing of any other company document.
  • Confirmation of newly employed staff by getting necessary feedback from personal referees submitted by the employees.
  • Being able to complete tasks efficiently and without very close supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
