Job Title: Registered/Retired Nurse (Hospital Matron)

Location: Enugu

Job Type: Full Time

Job Description

Direct participation in surgical procedures;
Assistance in clinical research and record keeping as required by the organization
Assess patients condition before surgery
Control all equipment and material stock used in the Operating Theatre to ensure efficient and rational use of material resources
Keep the operating room sterilized
Position the patient on operating table
Pass medical instruments to the surgeons during operation
Monitor patient’s vital signs
Evaluate postoperative patients
Reviews charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards
Communicate with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care
Manage sterilization of equipments
Assist the surgeon and anaesthetist during the operation, anticipating their needs in order to facilitate their job
Organize patient transportation from the Operating Theatre to the recovery room and carry-out and/or supervise all the postoperative activities.
Supervise and train the nurse aides and cleaners while following Standard Operating Procedures.
Contribute to monthly reports according to guidelines (statistical reports, etc.)
Note:

• The Registered Nurse shall be the head nurse, and provide direct and indirect care for assigned patients in various nursing units and per scheduled shift

• The Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for professional performance and safe patient care

• The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients across the healthcare continuum involving families

• Managing patients with various medical cases

• Perform patient assessment using appropriate, problem-focused, and age-specific assessment techniques

• Analyze the assessment data, derive nursing interventions, set priorities according to patients’ needs, formulate a plan of care, implement and evaluate the outcome

Job Title: Registered Nurse
Location: Enugu

Job Description

Perform professional nursing care to patients admitted to the clinic.
Maintain skill and knowledge by participating in various nurse education programs, seminars, staff meetings and workshops.
Ensure proper documentation of nursing care on chart forms.
Display a basic knowledge of the role.
Qualification

Minimum academic qualification of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Paediatrics Nurse or Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc).
3 to 5 years relevant work experience in the health sector desired.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Good knowledge of laboratory equipment

· Collect blood or tissue samples from patients, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood sample.

· Maintaining and updating professional knowledge and taking responsibility for continuing professional development (CPD).

· Perform all tasks, duties and tests related to laboratory services

· Process specimens utilizing protocols and technical knowledge

Job Description

Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
Ensure the clinic and environs are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, offices, halls, and other areas: Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.
Keeps utility and storage rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
Distributes laundered articles and linens.
May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies.
Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances.
Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
