Senate Urge Federal Ministry of Labour to Scrap Age Barriers For Job Seekers

The Senate on Wednesday 15th July 2020, asked the Federal Government to urge the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity to scrape age limit for job seekers. The resolution followed the consideration of a motion by Senator Ibrahim Gobir. Read the detail below:

Senator Ibrahim Gobir Cites Order 42 to seek the leave of the Senate to present a Motion on Need to review age barriers for job seekers during the recruitment process of MDAs and private organizations.

Senate resolves to: Ask the Federal Government to direct the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to set up a Committee to review the age restriction with a view to getting the problem of age barrier sorted out.
