The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) is a member of the United Bible Societies (UBS), a global fellowship of Non-Denominational Christian Organizations whose primary mission involves translation of the Holy Scriptures into languages people can easily read and understand as well as production and distribution of the Scriptures to meet the different needs of everyone. It also organizes programmes to encourage interaction with the Scriptures and raises fund for these activities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Audit Assistant

Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • Auditing of the activities of assigned BSN depots and Areas in the Northern part of Nigeria, and the Guesthouse in Abuja
  • Ensure strict compliance with the BSN policies; Monitor staff advances and recovering debts and report the true state of same to the Divisional Manager in Lagos.
  • Ensure strict adherence to necessary mechanisms put in to detect and prevent errors and frauds early; Report every observed variances or breach of BSN operational standard promptly and so on

Personnel Specifications

  • Must possess a National Diploma in Accounting  and / or ATS with sound and practical knowledge of accounting software preferably Sage 5O
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Power point, Word, Excel, etc
  • The job holder must have a minimum cognate experience of 2-3 years in an internal Audit / Control and Finance function from a reputable organization
  • Applicants must be willing to learn and must be practicing and committed Christian with good testimonies of turning point experiences

Job Title: Human Resource Officer

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will among others do the following:

  • Assist in some strategic HR management such as staff acquisition, proper utilization, onboarding and orientation, result oriented training / development, and so on.
  • Ensure productive administration and management of the Society’s insurance policies as it relates to its assets and properties.
  • Ensure implementation of training schedules and monitor staff post training presentations
  • Manage pension, health and other related Employee Assistance Programmes of the Society etc

Personnel Specifications

  • Minimum of 5 years cognate experience. Professionally certified by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria or CIPD, England with good knowledge of Nigerian labour and employment laws are major criteria to occupy this position.
  • A Higher National Diploma or first Degree in the Humanities is a must. Post graduate degree in Business Administration, Personnel Management, Industrial and Labour Relations or related field would be of advantage.
  • Proven Christian experience and proven integrity; Good presentation skill; Willingness to learn and ability to work as a team player; Good working knowledge of Microsoft Power point, Word, Excel, etc. Flexible, not easily provoked, sociable and always hungry for and delivering timely results.

Job Title: Confidential Secretary

Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will among others do the following:

  • Type mail-able documents that are error free for operational / administrative use.
  • Process, manage and coordinate relevant documents, data / information and other resource tools relating to the activities of the department to drive the growth and achievement of set goals
  • Provide strategic secretarial functions to help achieve set goals.

Personnel Specifications

  • Must have a National Diploma in Secretarial Administration, must be someone who is intelligent, highly confidential, firm but levelheaded, able to work under pressure, disciplined, quality and result driven.
  • S / he must have a minimum of 4 years cognate experience in a structured setting.
  • Must possess excellent administrative and communication skills; must be a team player and able to coordinate team members to achieve expected results.

Job Title: AGS – Church & Public Relations

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will among others do the following:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the department
  • Networking with BSN formations in the areas of fundraising, reports and information dissemination
  • Motivate the departmental staff to stimulate exceptionally performance in mobilizing funds for the Society’s operations
  • Initiate and develop marketable fundraising products to the Christians and BSN public for sponsorship
  • Identify and support genuine mission field operators in a way that will produce a multiplier effect on return on mission in collaboration with Distribution and Programmes Department.
  • Plan programmes and activities that will make BSN a household name in Nigeria
  • Ensure effective Church / Public & Media Relations.
  • Write self-sustainable fundraising programmes and design products that can enhance sustainable funds for the Society.

Personnel Specifications

  • Must be a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree holder and a member of relevant chartered and recognized professional bodies with 10 years cognate work experience out of which 5 must be at a Senior Management level in a structured environment
  • Ability to relate with various Church denominations in the spirit of church ecumenism, High level of social and public relations skills, highly creative and innovative with ability to constantly develop new fundraising products as quickly as possible to meet donors needs.
  • High level of listening skills and impeccable oral communication and sound body language.
  • Able to face audience / congregation and convince them to support BSN’s activities Spiritual, mental and moral maturity; Strategic leadership and analytical skills.

Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will among others do the following:

  • Strategic HR management through sound acquisition, proper utilization, result oriented training / development, attractive / retentive motivational strategies and painless separation of staff.
  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems and safety programmes. These activities should be competitive to what obtains in similar organization if not better.
  • Advise management on H.R. organizational policy matters and recommend needed changes where necessary

Personnel Specifications

  • Ten years cognate experience with at least 5 of it at managerial level
  • Professionally certified by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria or CIPD, England with good knowledge of Nigerian labour and employment laws.
  • A Higher National Diploma or first Degree in the Humanities is a must. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Personnel Management, Industrial and Labour Relations or related field would be required.
  • Ability to be involved in strategic plan and implementation
  • Proven integrity; High level of presentation skills; Willingness to learn and ability to work as a team player;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Power point, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Flexible, not easily provoked, sociable and always hungry for and delivering timely results
