Job Description

  • The Digital / Engagement Producer – will produce a wide range of digital content for a new national TV channel based in Abuja.
  • The candidate will be responsible for daily output on various digital platforms and should have a grasp of various global issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audience engagement on various digital platforms.
  • Curating and sharing of content on digital platforms
  • Provide editorial direction and conceptualise content styles and storytelling techniques for digital.
  • Preliminary decision making on news headlines and summaries for news stories.

Qualifications

  • A Degree / HND in Media / Digital Media / Communication or any related Social Science.

Job Title: Presenter / Reporter

Job Description

  • Produce, Report and Present live day-to-day content across media platforms. The candidate may contribute to the planning and other output duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Has an accomplished presentation style, built up through training and lower-level presenting roles, which is fluent, engages the viewer and reflects the values of the channel.
  • Broadcast in a manner which is engaging, entertaining and readily understandable by a non-specialist audience.
  • Generate ideas and stories; contribute to the creative treatment and be involved in the production of an item or programme.
  • Provide clear treatments and proposals, ensuring consistency of content, quality and style.
  • Interview reporters, and local experts / advocates / political figures / policy makers in order to elicit information, and fill in the gaps in stories.
  • Research, script and present output content meeting the highest journalistic standards
  • Make the best use of new technologies – in particular developments in social media in delivering our journalism to audiences and to set an example in learning to operate new systems and adapting to different working methods
  • Liaise closely with other team members and with other departments to ensure that output material is shared, duplication is avoided, and best practice is upheld.
  • Build and maintain diverse contact lists and databases; compile and share information with other members of the team.
  • To provide timely, expert and authoritative news coverage and analysis on news and events of interest to the audience.

Qualifications

  • Be a trained Journalist and / or have as strong journalistic background.
  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Journalism, Communications or related field
  • A minimum of at least 3 years’ experience
  • Experience of presenting live news-based content as a presenter, correspondent/reporter or contributor
  • A thorough understanding of production methods used and the ability to adapt to new media.
  • Demonstrates balanced and objective judgement based on a thorough understanding of Editorial guidelines, target audience, programme and department objectives
  • Demonstrates excellence in the use of broadcast and computer-based technology.
  • Ability to convey story and programme ideas and to contribute fully to the planning process.
  • The flexibility and adaptability to sustain performance, particularly under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities and circumstances.

Job Title: Producer

Job Description

  • You will work under the leadership of an Editor to create and shape our news/programme coverage by writing scripts, cutting pictures, finding guests, developing graphics and other work as required.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, Sciences and the Arts.
  • Excellent writing skills for television news.

Job Title: Planning Editor

Job Description

  • We are looking for a candidate that is talented, motivated and an experienced Journalist that will lead our news and current affairs department in planning and deploying of resources to deliver impactful journalism to our TV audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage reporters, producers, shoot edits and others in news gathering and delivery
  • Liaise with senior editorial staff to originate ideas for delivering day-to-day and event driven editorial projects.
  • Commission new content that will be shareable along TV and digital platforms.
  • Assessing and analysing the risk and value in deployments and make effective decisions often in breaking news situation.
  • To serve as a high-risk point of contact in hostile environment deployments.

Qualifications
