Job Title: Software Engineer / Developer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The job includes directing and participating in programming activities, monitoring, and evaluating system performance, and designing and implementing new programs and features.
• The position also involves using established work procedures to analyze, design, develop, implement, maintain, re-engineer and troubleshoot applications and software.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyzing and modifying existing software.
• Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs.
• Test, evaluate and deploy new programs.
• Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
• Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications.
• Writing and implementing efficient code.
• Determining operational practicality.
• Developing quality assurance procedures.
• Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics.
• Maintaining and upgrading existing systems.
• Train and follow up with users.
• Collaborate with the relevant teams and departments to produce software design and architecture.
• Record and report data to relevant stakeholders.
• Take lead on projects when necessary and mentor new developers.

Key Requirements
Candidates:

• Must have a minimum of HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Technology, or related field.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in Software Development/Engineering.
• Must have a solid understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Must have excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Must have accurate database management Skills.
• Must have a good understanding of Open API specifications.
• Must be able to write clean and well documented, maintainable, and readable code.
• Must possess organizational skills and great attention to detail.
• Commit to personal continuous improvement, education, and training to remain current on best practices, new programming languages, and to better assist other team members.
• Should be action oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment.

Technical skills required:

• In-depth experience with building/developing REST and GRPC APIs.
• Docker and Kubernetes deployments.
• Cloud Skills (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• API Development
• Web Framework
• Enterprise Software Development, etc.
