Job Title: Admissions Officer

Location: Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary
The post-holder will:

  • Assist the Directorate of Admissions and Examinations to promote and execute the admissions process.
  • Manage the capturing, storage and processing of data and the production of related reports and analyses relating to students.
  • Be responsible for raising the visibility and brand awareness of the school by carrying out an effective marketing and communications plan to raise the level and quality of new students across the School’s portfolio, raise awareness of the educational strengths and other core values of the school and promote the profile of the School to the public as a whole.

Key Responsibilities
Admissions:
The post-holder must have a full understanding of e-Exams Management and the Schools admissions Policy, in order to:

  • Assist in the admissions decision making process as student applications are evaluated and accepted or denied.
  • Provide students, parents, and guardians with information regarding admissions requirements and processes, financial aid applications, enrollment issues, or other procedures.
  • Organise and liaise with the respective examination centres during entrance examinations.
  • Engage in the coordinating, and overseeing promotional events, campus tours, student interviews, and other admissions activities.
  • Review and interpreting student information, including test scores, extracurricular activities, and grades.
  • Communicate changes, statistics, and other information to the Director of Admissions and Examinations and the Principal.
  • Ensure admission letters are distributed to successful candidates by the agreed date(s)
  • Undertake all required follow-up administration including securing school references, obtaining medical and other critical data concerning the admitted students creating a file for each and ensuring all information is contained accurately within.
  • Organise the admission dates for incoming students and in collaboration with relevant parties to ensure all new incoming students are exposed to a full induction programme.
  • Ensure that all electronic data concerning students and their families is stored and appropriately maintained and that all is regarded as ‘Strictly Confidential’
  • Ensure information submitted concerning a student by the parent is assessed and relevant staff are informed of this and ensure that the information is considered and in certain cases followed –up on and communicated to relevant staff.

Business Development:

  • Support the Principal with regards to marketing activities
  • Ensure target admissions numbers are met
  • Market the school through various channels with the objective of achieving annual student intake projections. These channels will include:
    • Present to potential parents and students at identified feeder schools
    • Presentations and representation at relevant educational and other fairs and exhibitions
    • Identification of target parent clusters and marketing the school accordingly
    • Marketing the school nationally to identified feeder schools – in person and through other means of direct communication.
    • Webinars for international prospective parents and students.
    • Preparing and delivering content for marketing presentations. In addition to physical presentations, responsible for preparing presentations in other formats such as video for online use and for marketing to remote or distant target schools and parent groups.
  • Responsible for building relationships with target feeder schools and Parent Teacher Associations of such schools.
  • Generating and maintaining a database of contacts for marketing purposes.
  • Production of marketing and informational communications such as newsletters for delivery through various platforms including email and social media.
  • Ensuring that Key School Information (KSI) such as core values, student population, staff strength, academic performance highlights, curricular offered, facilities and school’s physical size are easily accessible on all the school’s platforms.
  • Responsible for developing an annual marketing plan as determined by the school’s priorities. This will involve close liaison with the Director of Admissions & Examinations. The Marketing Plan shall be submitted through the Principal for approval by a select committee of the Board.
  • The post-holder will be charged with the responsibility to keep the relevant sections of the school Website updated with regards to both examinations and admissions matters.

Qualification, Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • Must have a First Degree in Administration, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight (8) year experience in similar role in a reputable school.
  • Good understanding of the operations of an educational institution
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of Marketing
  • Timeliness of reports, communication, tasks and outcomes
  • Possess the drive, enthusiasm and determination to communicate with leads
  • High organizational and planning skills
  • A good team player
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools
  • Conversant with communication through internet, social media, video and other modern trends.
  • Confident and appealing personality
  • Good interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Flexible; must be able to multitask
  • Efficient and effective administrative skills.
