We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Financial Reporting Accountant

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Unit: Finance Operations
Reports to: Finance Operations Manager/ Group Financial Reporting Manager

Job Summary

  • The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for coordinating the entire financial reporting process of Global Accelerex Limited.
  • He/she will collaborate with the Finance Operation Managers to assure effective financial reporting and compliance with all financial regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Budgeting:

  • Prepare and distribute internal financial statements and reports, while maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy
  • Coordinate monthly closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts
  • Prepare quarterly departmental financial reports
  • Provide timely, useful, and reliable financial data in support of strategic and operational decisions
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in the implementation of new and effective accounting standards as applicable to the Company
  • Support in the preparation of the budget in coordination with senior management.

Finance Administration:

  • Ensure the monthly reconciliation of all ledgers and sub-ledgers
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

Audit Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate year-end audit with external auditors and assists in the preparation of audit schedules, data, and information
  • Work closely with the team to coordinate efforts to provide needed information for the auditors
  • Implement audit adjustments determined by Internal Audit Function and External Auditors.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc in Accounting or Finance or a related field
  • ACA/ACCA or other recognized accounting qualification
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.

Competencies:

  • Proven knowledge of financial reporting standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
  • Experience with ERP software (e.g. SAGE 300 ERP) and BI tools
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Advanced use of relevant MS Office tools, accounting software, and databases
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent coaching and supervisory skills
  • Highly professional and ethical with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Acts as a team player – Collaborate and supporting colleagues and peers across the organization, while still being able to work independently when needed
