Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Welding Engineer

Location: Abuja
Job Type: Contract

Job Description

  • Ensure Flawless Project Delivery based on project specifications, Codes and Standards, Witness, monitor, perform all welding, quality functions, reporting and documenting welders’ performance, welding consumable selections for the project.
  • Execute all welding concerns and provide solutions and route course analysis to mitigate re-occurrence.
  • Supervise the planning /scheduling of the welders’ qualification, procedure qualification and approval of Welding Procedure Qualification Record. Ensure that Welders’ Qualification certificates and ID cards are signed off and issued to every qualified welder.
  • Organize periodic checks and analysis of welders’ performance records for quality team and management.
  • Provide advice on weld failure, plan for repair and status of weld repairs in the project.
  • Recommend welding tools and instruments required for welding production and supervision.
  • Work with quality coordinators and welding engineers to realize minimum weld repair rate.

Requirements

  • B.Tech / B.Eng / HND in Engineering or Metallurgy
  • IIW Diploma or certification required (Mandatory)
  • CSWIP level III or equivalent certificate as added advantage but not mandatory
  • 5 – 20 years experience in hands on, working with various welding processes from EPC.
  • Must possess a balance of the technical, human relations and conceptual skills required to achieve results through subordinate supervision.
  • Must be capable of evaluating and weighing alternatives, establishing relative priorities and formulating decisions that affect all phases of the operation. Must be proficient in the application of various welding Codes such as but not limited to API 1104, ASME IX, ASME B31.series, DNV series, ISO series etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office Suites and other applicable tools for weld joint design.
  • Ability to produce understandable and accurate reports and records.
  • Must have a current welding Engineering license.
  • Must have record of positive work performance and safety record.
  • Ability to perform work independently.
  • History of being dependable and reliable with good organization skills.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours when needed.

Primary Skills:

  • B. Tech / B.Eng / HND. Engineering or Metallurgy, CSWIP level III or equivalent certificate, IIW Diploma or certification.
