The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is an independent body, established by the Electric Power Sector Reform Act of 2005 to undertake technical and economic regulation of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry. The Commission is to, among others license operators, determine operating codes and standards, establish customer rights and obligations and set cost-reflective industry tariffs. The Commission has its headquarters in Abuja.

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Generation Services

Job Description

  • Carry out tasks involving setting up of electricity generation operating standards and performance.
  • Liaise regularly with electricity generators to understand and appreciate operational challenges.
  • Provide technical and administrative inputs to the development of technical guidance to ensure the development of best practice industry generation standards.
  • Provide inputs in reviewing technical design and standards, plus project monitoring plans of major electricity generation projects before regulatory approval.
  • Maintain a record of changes and reviews of electricity-generating standards and performance.
  • Carry out tasks assigned from time to time by senior staff of the Engineering Standard and Safety Division.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

  • First Degree & Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bias in Instrumentation and Control Systems).
  • Minimum years of experience: 9 years
  • Team player, Works well under Pressure, Self-Starter.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project.
