Job Title: Cashier

Summary

  • Our client is seeking to recruit a Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently
  • The role holder will be responsible for receiving payments and issuing receipts, keeping track of all cash and card transactions, answering inquiries and providing helpful information to customers on products or promotions.

Summarized Job Description

  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
  • Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Collect cash, checks, and credit card payments from customers
  • Balance the cash register and generate reports for credit and debit sales
  • Process refunds and exchanges, resolve complaints
  • Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
  • Track transactions and balance sheets and report any discrepancies
  • Assist in stocking and rotating merchandise
  • Stay up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements and product information

Person Specification

  • Minimum of OND with 1-2 years of work experience as a Cashier or a similar role
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is a MUST
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
