Job Title: Security Officer
Location: Ubahadara, Nempi, Oru West LGA, Imo
Vacancy Type: Full-time with days off (In person)
Reporting to: Administrative Officer

Job Purpose
- The Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding the work premises, staff, and visitors at all times to ensure safety and protection.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor, control, and authorize the entrance of vehicles and people on the premises.
- Confirm products carried out by delivery drivers at the gate before departure.
- Secure all exits, doors, and windows after the end of operations.
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a presence.
- Detect any suspicious behavior and prevent vandalism, threats, or other criminal behavior.
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions and report them to management for escalation to a higher authority.
- Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers around the premises.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities, interviewing witnesses, and obtaining signatures.
- Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control, and accident investigations.
Requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of OND or equivalent in any discipline, preferably Security Studies.
- Ideally, 2- 5 years of experience working as a Security officer with a reputable organization. (Experience in a water company is strongly preferred).
- Certification from a well-recognized and accredited Security Agency (will be an added advantage).
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Security Operations and Procedures.
- Knowledge of Basic Security and Fire Inspection Procedures.
- Superb Surveillance skills.
- Excellent physical condition (Must be physically/mentally fit, with a minimum height of 5.6ft for males and 5.4ft for females.).
Competences Required:
- Ability to follow through on instructions and ensure strict compliance.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proven track record of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability.
- Ability to make objective and sound judgments.
- Mental alertness and vigilance.
- Strong observation and critical thinking skills.

- No incidence of theft and vandalism (Occurrence should be minimal and proactively managed)
