Mission

  • Coordinate all reporting activities concerning regulatory requirements and laws affecting MTNN to ensure the business’s long-term viability.

Description

  • Prepare correspondence, research, and prepare position papers on key regulatory issues with a focus on Commercial Initiatives, Market and Service Regulation, Regulatory Governance etc.
  • Provide legal and regulatory opinion/advisory on all issues that impact on MTNN from a regulatory perspective, including new legislation, government policies, etc.
  • Assist in ensuring the alignment of business operations and initiatives with terms of licenses and approvals, marketing and legal conditions and requirements.
  • Coordinate all reporting activities and ensure timely submission in consonance with all regulatory requirements and laws, with a view to ensuring long-term viability of the business.
  • Liaise and negotiate with business partners and regulatory authorities in respect of matters pertaining to MTNN’s operations.
  • Process and obtain requisite approvals from relevant regulatory authorities on business initiatives.
  • Act as 1st level interface on commercial regulatory matters and communicate/sensitize stakeholders on relevant developments in commercial regulation and policy.
  • Follow up with regulatory authorities on submissions and other regulatory issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the regulatory agencies and other stakeholders in the telecommunications industry.

Education

  • First Degree in Law
  • Called to the Nigerian Bar
  • Fluent in English

Experience:

  • 3 – 7 years’ experience which includes:
    • Minimum of 3 years’ legal experience in a law firm or as in-house counel in a relevant area of specialization with experience of working sin cross-functional teams.
    • Experience working in a medium sized organization.
