Vedic Lifecare Hospital is a multidisciplinary hospital with a team of specialists in various fields of medicine. Our quest is to expand healthcare practices through our team of doctors and other medical practitioners by providing our esteemed patients affordable and impactful heathcare services at all times. Vedic is located at Block 105, Plot 6, Olabanji Olajide Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Critical Accountabilities
The critical accountabilities that must be achieved in order that the job purpose is fulfilled:

  • Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitment, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
  • Report to management regarding the finances of the companies.
  • Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Ensure the financial integrity of the Companies’ operations by safeguarding company assets and prudent balance sheet management.
  • Ensure appropriate signatory authority as per Companies financial policies are obtained at all times before any financial transactions are completed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the delivery of cost-effective front line financial services (e.g. settlement and commercial administration)
  • Assist the Billing Team in refund processing
  • Assist the Marketing Team in processing co-management fees on time.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations
  • Implement Best Practice tools which improve the accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness of financial transaction processing and reporting
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of the available computer technology.
  • Work as internal revenue service agent
  • Carry out the required administrative, customer services and sales roles as part of your roles as the company’s accountant.
  • Monitor, supervise and motivate other staff below your category with a view to getting the best out of them.

Qualifications and Training Required

  • Must possess a First Degree / HND in Accountancy or a Finance-related discipline.
  • Must be ACA-qualified
  • Must have at least 7 years of relevant work experience.
