Job Title: Acquiring Operations Analyst

The Role

  • We are looking for an Acquiring Operations Analyst, to join our team.
  • You will be responsible for handling all card acquiring and account maintenance issues for all Flutterwave merchants’ accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Update fees on merchants’ accounts in line with merchants’ contracts and as advised by the sales team.
  • Adjust limits on merchants’ accounts in line with merchants’ requests.
  • Review tickets logged by internal stakeholders and ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Review merchants’ accounts and activities for high-risk behaviors or operations that do not align with our terms of service.
  • Review merchants’ documents and ensure that all documents are complete and meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Update settlement account numbers for merchants on request.
  • Create MIDs for merchants on MPGS (MasterCard Payment Gateway Service).
  • Daily review of MCCs assigned to merchants on Flutterwave for Business. Ensure that the right MCC is assigned to each merchant and make updates where necessary.
  • Enable merchants to process international cards including AMEX and Discover.
  • Liaise with the product and Engineering teams to escalate technical issues and ensure prompt and complete resolution.
  • Handling other responsibilities assigned such as enabling other payment methods for merchants on requests.
  • Performing daily spot tests for payouts and collections on Flutterwave for Business.
  • Quarterly training of the internal stakeholders on the team’s processes, highlighting the challenges and enhancement to the platform.
  • Attend meetings with merchants to understand their business activities, highlight risks associated with the business and discuss solutions to mitigate highlighted risks.
  • Analyze, understand, and translate merchants’ requests to ensure accurate resolution.
  • Staying abreast of technology, new businesses to recognize compliance trends and AML flags.

Required Competency and Skillset to be a Waver

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2+ years’ experience, preferably in a Fintech environment.
  • Experience in a customer support role is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Driven and result oriented.
  • High attention to details and ability to spot patterns and red flags.
  • Good knowledge of the financial services / fintech industry.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proactive and forward thinking.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, word) and google sheets.
  • Ability to use support tools like slack, zoom, teams, google meets.
  • Ability to work effectively work independently and as part of a team.
