Job Title: Service Superintendent, Mechanical

Job Description

  • We are now looking for a Service Superintendent, Mechanical to join our Field Service team at Lagos, Nigeria. The Successful candidate will report to the Field Services Manager, Nigeria & Central Africa.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
  • May act as a commissioning engineer and may lead the related commissioning activities.
  • Take responsibility as Team Leader supervising service engineers/sub-contractors at Power plant locations.
  • Take a leading role and assist with all work being carried out. Maintaining good morale and team spirit.
  • Independently perform major/complex repairs and complete overhauls on various Wartsila Portfolio Engines and OEM Turbocharges.
  • Be aware of the local work instructions for overhauling components and ensure they are understood and adhered to.
  • Provide accurate and timely solutions whilst maintaining a high level of quality and service across all allocated jobs.
  • Liaise with customer on site handling inquiries and technical queries.
  • Actively advise and promote available products and solutions to customers.
  • Liaise closely with the Service Coordinator to provide progress status of the assigned work and ensure service deadlines are met.
  • Ensure that all activities on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety obligations and are in line with applicable Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Standards.
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced Engineers within the team. Coach and train them, assist in competence monitoring and improvement.
  • Ensure that all timesheets (signed by the customer) and expense sheets are submitted on a weekly basis; when supervising Wärtsilä Engineers, ensure that all timesheets and expense reports are completed correctly, signed by the customer, and also submitted on a weekly basis.
  • Submit accurate and high-quality service work reports within 48 hours of returning home from assigned jobs.
  • Adopt a pleasant, adaptable attitude to assist Company staff with any “ad-hoc” duties that may be required.
  • Carry out all tasks in such a way as to ensure maximum (internal and external) satisfaction at all times to the extent that this is within the employee’s control.
  • In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.

Requirements

  • A formal qualification within engineering e.g., B.Eng, HND / HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Wartsila power plants.
  • A proven background within an engineering/service environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Wartsila quality, safety, and environmental skills.
  • Pro-active and independent individual with a team player attitude.
  • High attention to detail with a methodical approach & practical problem-solving skill.
  • IT literate with knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written.
  • Willingness to learn, develop and gain a broad knowledge of Wartsila products.

Job Title: Field Service Coordinator

  • We are now looking for a Field Service Coordinator to join our Field Service team at Lagos, Nigeria. The Successful candidate will report to the Field Services Manager, Nigeria & Central Africa.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Lead and coordinate Field Service activities, including personnel, spare parts, costs, and time.
  • Be Responsible and accountable for results and deviations of all services handled in accordance with what is planned.
  • Support field service personnel when they are assigned on a job.
  • Act as the contact person for the customer during service work.
  • Communicate with the customer, our engineers, and sales during the delivery of Field Service jobs.
  • Promote effective communication with other departments (Technical Service, Sales Proposal, Sales, Contract and Project Management, etc.), according to needs and requirements, ensuring the satisfaction of internal and external customers.
  • Follow up and supervise needed actions to secure customer satisfaction regarding Field Service jobs assigned.
  • Follow up the service work orders until invoicing, including change orders, technical documentation, timesheets, travel expenses, and vendor invoices.
  • Manage all jobs in SAP and CRM (Service Work Force) from an administrative standpoint.
  • Take responsibility for briefing and debriefing of the engineers before and after the jobs.
  • Ensure that engineers execute the work according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.

Requirements
You will shine in this role when you have:

  • BEng / M.Sc or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is an essential requirement.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the service, customer care, and 4 Stoke Engines.
  • Professional Project Management skills (considered as an advantage)
  • A safety-first mind-set.
  • Passion about developing resources and excellent Customer Service.
  • Experience in a customer facing role with responsibility for collection of costs and invoices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and Customer Centricity.
  • Demonstrable team working skills and the ability to adjust and re-plan in dynamic situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and well-developed cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Job Title: Electrical Plant Technician

Location: Ewekoro, Ogun

Job Description

  • We are now looking for an Electrical Plant Technician to join our team in Ewekoro, Nigeria.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities related to Maintain and operate the plant during the shift according to company policies, procedures, and operation plan.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Identify and locate all existing sensors and transmitters of engines and auxiliary equipment as well as test and substitute them if necessary.
  • Carry out inspections of all electrical equipment and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Comply with all safety regulations (including isolation, lockout, and tag out) and perform emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices.
  • Ensure that the working area, machines, auxiliary equipment, and tools are kept in good and clean condition.
  • Identify and correct abnormalities of the engine excitation systems as well as test the protection and supervision equipment of the systems.
  • Create work reports according to guidelines.
  • Inspect engines electrical systems of the engines, auxiliary equipment, and other existing equipment in the plant to detect electrical faults and take the necessary steps for the prevention and correction of the referred abnormalities.
  • Maintenance of electrical tools, fixtures, cutting tools, and hand tools.
  • Reconditioning and overhaul of engine’s electrical components.

Job Requirements

  • B.Eng or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent educational background.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant industrial experience in Power Plants running with Dual fuel engines and its auxiliaries
  • An Advance level of English language
