Job Title: Cashier / Inventory Officer

Location: France Road, Sabo Gari – Kano
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • As the Cashier / Inventory Officer, you will work closely with the location’s sales officers to facilitate customer purchasing, as well as handling and ensuring payments by the customer.
  • You are saddled with the responsibility of handling stocks and inventory in the location of your operation by ensuring proper handling, receiving and documentation of the inventory received.
  • You will be responsible for processing and receiving payments, issuing receipt and ensure proper documentation in the drive.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Transactions:

  • Assist to achieve branch budgeted sales and profit target.
  • Collecting payments for products either in cash or credit.
  • Accepting payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and providing receipt for every sales transaction.
  • Ensure products presented by customers are properly handled to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Cross checking items presented for purchase by customers to see that they are in good condition.
  • Track sales transactions and report any discrepancies to the management.
  • Resolving customers’ complaints.

Inventory Management:

  • Receive and handling of the location’s inventories/Stock.
  • Ensure accountability and safety of the location’s inventory.
  • Ensure stock release only on approval of the Sales Order Form
  • Ensure monthly stock count by second of the next month.
  • Have proper knowledge of all companies’ products and prices.

Cash Management:

  • Make deposit of cash received to the bank.
  • Daily reconciliations of cash and bank.

Record Keeping:

  • Balancing the cash register and generating reports for credit and debit sales.
  • Maintain accurate record of inventory sent to the station.
  • Documenting sales, payments, and credits sales on the drive.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of stocks and inventory issued out for sales.
  • Keep proper record of cash and expenses within the location.

Station Management:

  • Maintain clean and tidy warehouse/storeroom and other equipment.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or any relevant field.
  • 2 – 5 years Proven experience in similar role is an added advantage.
  • Computer Savvy.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent use of microsoft office suite especially excel and google drive.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
  • Must reside within Kano and preferably, France Road, Sabo Gari.

 

 

Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a professional Accountant who can work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.

Job Functions

  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other financial reports.
  • Capture accurate data entering/record of customer’s purchase, debts and other details in locations assigned.
  • Escalate to management possible threats as it relates to high customer debt profile and other discrepancies.
  • Analyse trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Report organization’s finances to management and offer suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions and ensuring that accurate sales records, debts and customer details are well captured.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
  • Secure financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Responsible for tax management, including filing.
  • Responsible for customer account reconciliation and accounts receivables.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Prepare budget and financial forecasts.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance
  • Membership of a Professional body – ACCA, ICAN, etc.
  • Excellent Computer Knowledge especially Excel, Google Drive.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software ERP SAGE EVOLUTION is a guaranteed plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong leadership personality and communications skills.
  • Good accounting knowledge.
