Responsibilities

  • Work with the Ubuntu desktop user community to research new features and improvements
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape the future of Ubuntu desktop
  • Create world-class desktop and web interactions for Ubuntu
  • Evolve and evangelise design systems that drive consistency and efficiency
  • Provide direction to the design team, keeping our efforts aligned with product strategy and best practices
  • Interact with the open source community to encourage adoption of features and designs
  • Managing a team of UX designers focusing on Canonical’s developer experience
  • UX designers should be excellent communicators who are at ease working with a complex mix of engineers, designers and executives.
  • They represent us at cross-functional company meetings and must present their design position with clarity and precision.

Job Title: Global Payroll Administrator

Location: Lagos

Job Brief

  • We’re looking for an exceptional Payroll Administrator with experience of working with outsourced payroll bureaus (US, UK, EU and/or additional jurisdictions) to manage the company’s end to end global payroll and contractor payments.
  • You’ll have domain expertise in processing payroll in different countries.
  • You are reliable, diligent and pay attention to details and always work towards improving current processes.
  • This role may choose to be office based out of London or home based, and will report to our Global Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all payrolls are always delivered on time and with 100% accuracy
  • Process the payroll/contractor data in an organised and structured manner
  • Keep on track of all payroll deadlines and monthly payroll tasks
  • Prepare payroll reports and provide monthly payroll data in journal format to finance for processing
  • Comply with GDPR regulations and maintain payroll security/confidentiality
  • Deal with payroll queries and resolve or escalate as required
  • Constantly seek out ways to improve systems and processes to ensure a seamless flow between HR, Payroll and Finance
  • Keep payroll policies up to date and write any new procedures as required
  • Provide support to any project related activities from Finance and HR
  • Provide support to Finance with reporting and audit queries
  • Assist with future expansions of global payrolls and other projects
  • Manage all payroll correspondence and act as a point of contact for all escalated payroll queries
  • Maintain strong cross-functional team relationships
  • Build strong relationships with vendors to ensure excellent service delivery and compliance in all countries

Job Title: Software Engineer – App Stores Backend

Summary

  • We have some exciting challenges ahead including continuing to scale our production architecture, expand the store backend to handle additional package types, and enhance our on-prem offering for IoT and Enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate remotely with a globally distributed team.
  • Write clean web service APIs to support both CLI and web frontend clients, using Python (and optionally Golang).
  • Design and implement new features and enhancements from spec to production and ongoing operations at scale.
  • Review code and technical designs produced by other engineers.
  • Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.
  • Work remotely with global travel 2 to 4 weeks for internal and external events.

Responsibilities
What your day will look like:

  • Provide executive reporting dashboards and documents including Board, close and other management presentations
  • Analyse monthly results, leading indicators and KPIs to support monthly forecasting and annual plan attainment
  • Provide commercial analysis, develop growth targets, and evaluate strategic initiatives
  • Work with product managers to produce, aggregate, and distribute both market insights and competitive intelligence
  • Manage financial models, including budgeting, forecasting and long range planning, and determine the appropriate processes, methodologies, and modelling techniques to produce low variance budget to actual
  • Partner with Accounting and IR to support month end close, flux review processes, and financial reporting
  • Play a key role in preparation of critical public financial documents to support the IPO process, including supporting the production of investor materials and public filings
  • Guide the annual FP&A activity calendar to provide decision support the executive team
  • Control costs via methodical reviews of department spend, procurement strategies, and business wide process efficiency

Requirements
