Job Title: Communications & Sustainability Manager

Key Purpose

  • The key purpose of this role is to lead the development and execution of a broad-based strategic sustainable development initiative for International Breweries Plc deriving from the Global 2025 Sustainability Goals.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities
Sustainability:

  • Drive the achievement of the country 2025 Goals on Climate Action, Smart Agriculture, Water Stewardship, Circular Packaging, Smart Drinking and Better World initiatives.
  • Develop and implement innovative programmes and initiatives on the Goals.
  • Continuously secure and leverage senior level commitment and support for integrating sustainable development into core processes and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the company’s internal groups to develop a coordinated sustainability plan.
  • Serve as the internal leader and “go to” expert for sustainability, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues, and communicating and educating others on sustainability topics
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls and measurement systems are in place to support sustainability efforts.
  • Source, secure and sustain partnerships with other partner organizations or institutions who have similar CSR ambitions to leverage scale and economies
  • Prepare periodic reports of planned, on-going and completed projects for each Corporate Social Responsibility cycle and year.
  • Own and manage the country stakeholder engagement master plan.
  • Execute the company’s annual Sustainability Report

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):

  • Ensure that the company’s Better World initiatives and other CSR investments and interventions build corporate reputation and contribute to driving corporate success.
  • Conduct research, come up with ideas, create detailed plans, and implement and coordinate a range of activities and initiatives, which are designed to have a positive impact on communities and the society.
  • Work with external agency to develop and maintain detailed proposals for CSR, including identifying and implementing sponsorships with non-profit and other organizations to demonstrate commitment externally
  • Oversee Employee Volunteerism – Better World Champions – across the country’s operations.
  • National CSR Programmes: develop and work on special national CSR projects (exclusive to community CSR projects) to project the company as a national brand. Such programmes include the Kickstart empowerment programme.
  • Manage site mobilization, implementation, completion, handover and delivery of social investment projects on time and within approved budget limit.

Sustainable Development Communications:

  • Work with the Internal and Corporate Communications team to ensure there is effective internal and external communications of Sustainability and CSR activity including stakeholder engagement. Foster a culture of sustainability through ongoing organizational communications and education.
  • Collaborate closely with internal subject matter experts e.g., Head of Environment, Ecology, Health & Safety etc to ensure appropriate responses and communications on their subject areas.
  • Impact Story Telling and Showcase: Collaborate with the Communications Manager, CAMs and other relevant Managers to communicate progress and impact of our key sustainability initiatives internally and externally, including leveraging national, regional and global platforms to showcase the success of such initiatives.

Corporate Communications:

  • Maintain and enhance the organization’s brand image and reputation through consistent messaging and visual identity across all communication channels. Ensure brand guidelines are followed in all communication materials.
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive coverage and manage any potential negative publicity. Draft press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to distribute to the media.
  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged. Create and distribute newsletters, memos, and other internal communication materials. Coordinate company-wide announcements and events.
  • Create compelling and engaging content for various platforms, including websites, social media, blogs, and newsletters. Ensure content is tailored to different target audiences and supports the organization’s messaging and objectives.
  • Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage and respond to potential crises or emergencies.
  • Oversee the organization’s digital communication channels, including websites, social media platforms, and email marketing. Monitor online conversations, respond to inquiries, and engage with the audience to maintain a positive online presence.
  • Identify key stakeholders and develop strategies to engage and build relationships with them. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of communication efforts.
  • Track and analyse the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives. Monitor media coverage, website traffic, social media metrics, and other relevant data to evaluate the impact of communication efforts and make data-driven decisions

Profile
Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Additional certifications in Sustainability and/or Communications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in sustainability management and Strategic Communications, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Communications, sustainability principles, and industry best practices

Job Title: Financial Reporting Specialist

Key Purpose

  • The key purpose of this role is to perform activities related to journal processing, reconciliations, process improvement, management of SAP open items and general accounting administration.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of monthly and annual General Accounting activities. This includes monthly and annual close-the-books activities including annual statutory audit process.
  • Preparation and review of journals of finance team, ensuring that journals are accurately and timeously uploaded and processed in system.
  • Preparation and review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations. Review all Balance sheet GL’s to ensure recons align to underlying schedules
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financials statements. Assist with queries from Zone and Global teams
  • Administer and timeously clear all open items in SAP to ensure a healthy ageing status.
  • Manage GL Chart of Accounts
  • Adherence to General Ledger closure deadlines in accordance to management requirements.
  • Assist the team to meet weekly and monthly R2R targets and all relevant SLA’s and KPI’s.
  • Present and implement corrective action and preventive action for recurring process related issues. Perform Root Cause analysis for recurring or high severity issues resulting in issue reduction.  Identify automation opportunities to improve the way we operate and work closely with technology to leverage system functionalities to improve the process.
  • Maintenance of role training documentation. Assisting in knowledge transfer to new employees within the role.
  • Adhere to internal control protocols and provide information as required to internal and external audit.
  • Share information as it relates to business requirements.
  • Help the team and Team Lead in identifying process improvements, excellence and process efficiency opportunities.
  • Present to the Team Lead key challenges, insights and workarounds.
  • Trouble shoot issues and share improvement ideas with Team Lead.

Profile
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related course
  • ICAN or ACCA chartered
  • Accounting background and experience
  • 3 – 5 years prior related position experience required.
  • Computer skills (MS Office, Financial systems. MxP).
  • SAP experience.
