1.) Group Head, Legal and Compliance

Summary

  • The Group Head, you must possess knowledge or experience in corporate law, employment law, or intellectual property law.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

 

  • Representing the company with government, external and global agencies.
  • Creating valuable high-level connections and relationships with all company stakeholders
  • Designing the company’s compliance and agency relations
  • Have some experience working with global companies and around west’s Africa
  • Providing legal and compliance advice: The Group Head, Legal and Compliance is responsible for providing legal and compliance advice to senior management, departmental heads, and employees on matters related to laws, regulations, and policies that may affect the company’s operations.
  • Developing and implementing compliance policies: The Group Head, Legal and Compliance develops and implements compliance policies, procedures, and standards that align with the company’s objectives and ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Conducting compliance audits: They lead the compliance audit function to ensure that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations. The Group Head, Legal and Compliance also identifies areas of potential risk and recommends strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Representing the company in legal matters: They manage the company’s legal affairs, including representing the company in legal proceedings, managing disputes, and negotiating contracts.
  • Staying up-to-date on legal and regulatory developments: The Group Head, Legal and Compliance keeps abreast of legal and regulatory developments that may impact the company’s operations, providing guidance to senior management and departmental heads.
  • Building and managing a legal and compliance team: They build and manage a legal and compliance team, ensuring that the team has the required skills, knowledge, and resources to support the company’s legal and compliance requirements effectively.
  • Managing compliance training programs: The Group Head, Legal and Compliance oversees compliance training programs for employees, ensuring that they are trained on legal and regulatory requirements relevant to their roles.
  • Collaborating with other departments: They collaborate with other departments to ensure that legal and compliance considerations are integrated into business operations, projects, and initiatives.
  • Overall, the Group Head, Legal and Compliance is a critical member of the executive team, responsible for ensuring that the company operates within the legal and regulatory framework and mitigates potential legal and compliance risks.

Requirements

  • First Degree in Law. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position and 20 years as Legal experience.
  • Knowledge or experience in Corporate Law, Employment Law, or intellectual property law.

  • The Group Head, Business Development will be in charge of Marketing, Sales, Communication, Negotiation, and Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the overall strategic direction of the organization’s business development initiatives.
  • Oversee the identification, evaluation, and development of new business opportunities to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop proposals and pitches for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and campaigns to support business development activities.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for the business development function.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve the organization’s growth objectives.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and closing new business opportunities.
  • Must have a solid network with different industries across the country and West Africa.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in the Steel industry is a plus.

3.) Senior Internal Control Officer

Job Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time

Summary

  • The role works alongside the rest of the Internal Control team to increase the operational efficiency of the Organisation, detecting and eliminating errors and misappropriations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities
Financial Control:

  • Periodic review of financial records for adequacy, completeness, and correctness.
  • Analyze audit results to determine methods to increase inflows and profits and cut costs and prioritize spending, remove waste, and increase efficiency
  • Periodic reviews of payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Periodic reviews of financial reconciliation and transaction postings.
  • Monitor and advise quality standards and value for money and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Examine documentation including reports, memos, and SLA’s statement for information gathering.

Supply Chain/Inventory Control:

  • Policy sensitization/implementation of inventory framework and ensuring investigation of stock variances before adjustments are passed on SAP
  • Reconcile documentation with actual inventory or assets to ascertain correctness and accuracy
  • Test Internal Controls on inventory and supply chain targeting high-risk areas, document any weaknesses and their impact and make recommendations
  • Review and confirm that all receipts are ordered, reserved on SAP, and delivered to clients within a specified period.

HR/Operations Control:

  • Review Internal documents and processes and ensure the organisation complies with internal regulations and establish controls in place where required
  • Periodic risk assessments of the Group’s businesses, operations, and processes
  • Salary/Pay and staff benefits reviews
  • Where necessary, carry out investigations of alleged fraud, mismanagement, loss of assets or any other investigation
  • For each assignment assigned. Prepare weekly and monthly written report to present findings and conclusion to Head, Internal Control & Reconciliation

Required Skills & Competencies

  • B.Sc in Accounting & Finance / Banking & Finance; ACA or other related certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years ofexperience in Internal Control and Risk Management but not more than 8.
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software (SAP).
  • Sound Knowledge in Auditing and Accounting skills.
  • Ability to develop and update existing policies for Management use.

Job Summary

  • Work with the rest of the HR team to partner with business unit leaders, key stakeholders in shaping, developing, and delivering people initiatives, HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement the end-to-end employee recruitment and selection process in line with the laid down company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the New Hire Induction programme, ensuring seamless and successful implementation.
  • Organize and coordinate the company’s knowledge-sharing initiative as part of a larger competency development and gap-bridging programme
  • Assist in driving and implementing organization-wide change initiatives, playing the role of a Change Agent
  • Assist departments in carrying out various human resource programs, procedures and strategic planning activities
  • Provide tactical assistance to management in the implementation of strategies and plans
  • Act in a confidential capacity handling internal and external inquiries from employees and departments
  • Liaise with Line Supervisors in identifying employee training needs from the results of formal competency assessment exercises.
  • Responsible for collating and preparing the annual training plan/calendar and securing approval for its implementation.

Requirements

  • First Degree in relevant discipline with 7 – 10 years. A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
  • HR Certification (SHRM, HRCI, CIPM etc.).
