Job Title: Junior IT Staff

Description

  • We are looking to hire a Junior IT Staff, You will be part of the IT team that provides technical assistance for the institution and day-to-day IT issues.The Junior IT Support Technician must be proficient, organized, and passionate about learning new technologies and services.
  • This is a busy role, which may involve occasional out of hours work to meet crucial deadlines or to support events. This role reports to the IT Support Specialist Lead/IT Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform system maintenance and updates as appropriate.
  • Provide staff with technology support, which includes troubleshooting operating systems, applications, and network issues, answering questions regarding application use, and the installation of software.
  • Image/reimage campus computers and install updates and software.
  • Advise staff and students on best practices, institutional policies, and process improvement.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with staff to encourage technology use.
  • Setup of technology and configuration for the institution, academic and community events.
  • Perform system maintenance and updates as appropriate.
  • Troubleshooting for room systems, including desktop PC’s and laptops.
  • Overall classroom support including assisting faculty and students with accessing applications
  • Handling issues related to wired and wireless networks, and also emails.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the IT Manager

Requirements / Skills

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or any other related Degree. A Master’s Degree is an added advantage
  • 2 years of experience
  • Experience supporting connectivity, AV, personal computers, and laptops
  • Experience with support software e.g. Sharepoint, Microsoft, and G-suite
  • Passion for technology and knowledge of technical systems
  • Excelled organization skills and ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly (and positively) to changing demands and priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Hardworking
