GTI Microfinance Limited was incorporated in August 2007 as a limited liability company and started its operations in 2008 at No. 127 Obafemi Awolowo Road, Ikeja. In October 2013, it was licensed as a State Wide Microfinance Bank and moved its Head Office to No. 4 Tinubu Street, Central Business District, Marina Lagos. Other branches are located at Mushin, Abattoir in Agege, Surulere and Arena.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Location: Marina, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all matters pertaining to Finance
  • Financial Planning, MIS, Budgeting and Cash Flow Projections
  • Responsible for ensuring integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Supervising filing of statutory returns to regulatory authorities
  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management. external partners, stakeholders and regulatory agencies
  • Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT-related procedures
  • Drive the company’s financial planning
  • Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
  • Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
  • Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
  • Supervise all finance personnel (Controllers, Treasurers etc.)
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
  • Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
  • Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
  • Manage team of financial controllers and financial analysts
  • Ensure that all income and income heads are well captured
  • Effective tax management
  • Build capacity of department staff through quality trainings
  • Any other job as may be assigned by the Executive Management of the bank and the Board of Directors.

Job Requirments

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 7 – 15 years relevant work experience.
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience in working within a financial management role including the review and/or production of monthly management accounts and VAT returns
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Experience in producing and /or reviewing statutory financial statements
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • A proven track record of communicating complex financial issues and models in a clear-cut, concise manner to all relevant stakeholders
  • Proven analytical and modelling skills, and must be both commercially astute and a confident communicator
  • A good understanding and experience in the financial compliance issues in the banking sector
  • Proven ability to review and challenge assumptions within detailed financial forecasts.
