Job Title: Female Childcare Worker

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

  • Do you currently work in Nursery as a classroom assistant and looking to move up in your career, then this is for you!
  • As our Childcare worker, you will be required to work with young toddlers, attending to their needs while helping to foster early development.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

  • B.Ed / BA in English Language or Early Childhood Education gained from a reputable Institution
  • Must have minimum of 3 years relevant work experience working with young toddlers
  • MUST reside in Ibadan and be able to easily commute to Jericho, Ibadan
  • Have thorough knowledge and understanding of the British Curriculum gained from working in a similar role
  • You should be enthusiastic and confident in your abilities to engage children and extend their learning through play, enabling their emotional, social and educational development
  • You will be required to supervise and monitor the safety of children
  • Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
  • Help children keep good hygiene
  • Change the diapers of infants and toddlers
  • Organize activities as you implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests
  • Work with schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of management
  • Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interests
  • You will MUST be able to read with fluency
  • Use instructional techniques to introduce basic developmental concepts such as story telling for language and vocabulary
  • Be able to support children’s emerging language, literacy and mathematics skills through play
  • Have creative skills such as music, dance, drama, art and crafts
  • Be able to produce stimulating classroom decorations
  • Be innovative; having interesting delivery procedures, along with evidence of good classroom management techniques
  • To complement your qualification and experience, you will come with patience, good sense of humour, enthusiasm and great stamina to keep up with the needs and energy of young, lively children.
  • You MUST have excellent written and oral English skills
  • You MUST be able to use ICT creatively to support your work and the children’s learning.
