Sura Shopping Complex is the leading provider of access points for shoppers and businesses in Nigeria offering conducive and secure environment. The Facility Management Office is an arm of the Association of Business Owners in charge of maintenance for the entire complex.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Gardener

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• We are searching for a competent and reliable gardener to maintain the facility garden. You will be responsible for all general maintenance tasks related to the garden including planting new trees, servicing garden machinery, conducting regular pruning and advising management of cost-effective methods.
• Ultimately, you will make sure our gardens and green spaces are always healthy and beautiful.
• To succeed in this role, you should be physically fit and able to manage the machinery. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of effective gardening techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, managing weed control and leaf raking.
• Monitoring the health of all plants and greenscapes, watering and feeding plants
• Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
• Maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers and fertilizers,
• Service all garden equipment and machinery.
• Deal with pest problems that could damage plants.
• Keep green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter.
• Provide guidance to management on matters related to the garden.
• Advise management on the costs of plants and garden necessities with detailed written quotations and reports.
• Ensure a safe environment for stakeholders by adhering to safety and health regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role.
• Ability to handle a range of horticultural machinery and powered hand tools.
• In-depth knowledge of plants and gardening techniques.
• Solid understanding of health and safety rules.
