Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Edo
Grade Level: CONHESS 09

Role Description

  • Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, blood banking, and urinalysis
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment used for testing
  • Perform regular quality control checks and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during testing
  • Maintain and enforce quality control measures within the laboratory Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely laboratory results
  • Analyse body fluids, classify and process blood to determine types and to separate satin from the blood

Qualifications
Candidates for the post must possess the required qualifications, experience and skills specified below:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science
  • Member, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
  • 1-year post NYSC cognate experience
  • Not more than 35 years of age

Key Requirements / Attributes:

  • Relevant educational background and qualifications in healthcare or related fields
  • Knowledge of Civil/Public Service Rules
  • Basic skills and use of ICT tools
  • Valid and up-to-date licensure or registration with the appropriate regulatory body or council
  • Strong verbal & written communication abilities and interpersonal skills Knowledge of primary healthcare delivery and commitment to promoting preventive and community-based healthcare.
