Job Title: Quality Assurance Lead

The Role

  • We are looking for an innovative and experienced Quality Assurance Lead to join our team.
  • This position will play a primary role in planning, implementing, leading and executing all aspects of Quality and Testing.
  • The role requires hands-on QA expertise, ability to take initiative and develop and evolve our QA processes.
  • The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests and the best way to test.
  • To be successful as a QA Lead at MFS Africa, you should demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards and provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally
  • Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated)
  • Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution
  • Partner with engineering teams to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability
  • Respond to all requests from team members in a timely professional manner
  • Ensure that user expectations are met during the testing process
  • Contribute to the drafting of quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Assist in the investigation of user and product issues
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Participate in the agile development team and provide knowledge on test estimation models and best practices
  • Participate in test environment readiness and verification.
  • Generally, uphold the values of the Company

Qualifications and experience 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Experience in leading/ managing teams for minimum 4 years.
  • Overall, 8 years of Testing experience.
  • Experience coordinating with external QA resources.
  • Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications.
  • Strong Automation experience on Web and API Applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment.
