Job Title: Chief Security Officer

Location: Abuja

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in security management, steering initiatives and directing the comprehensive security strategy of the University.
  • Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for conducting meticulous security risk assessments and instituting policies to safeguard against data loss and fraudulent activities.
  • The Chief Security Officer will be entrusted with the responsibility of spearheading security initiatives and providing comprehensive oversight of the University’s security strategy. This entails direct supervision of the Directorate of Security Services, as well as the execution of security risk assessments and the implementation of policies aimed at safeguarding against data loss and fraudulent practices.
  • Responsibilities encompass the supervision of the Directorate of Security Services, conducting thorough security risk assessments, and formulating and enforcing policies to mitigate the risks of data loss and fraudulent activities.
  • As Chief Security Officer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in providing strategic oversight to security operations at the Hq and at all our study centres spread across the length and breadth of Nigeria. This involves taking charge of security initiatives, guiding the University’s overall security strategy, and exercising supervision over the Directorate of Security Services.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate, who MUST be a retired officer in the Nigeria Armed Forces, preferably the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police, or related security networks, must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any relevant fields with a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate working experience in the security sector.
  • Must be capable of maintaining and developing security policing arrangements for both day and night shifts.
  • Must have attained at least the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, a Major in the Army, or its equivalent.
  • Attendance and or exposure to vast training and possession of relevant experience in the Intelligence or Crime Management unit will be an added advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

  • As Chief Security Officer, the successful candidate will be entitled to a salary on the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Scale, (CONTISS 13) on N3,020,925.00 -N4,025,741.00 / Annum.
