Field Operations Supervisor (PACO Northbank) at Vagan Oil & Gas Limited

Vagan Oil and Gas Limited is a Nigerian Private Limited liability Company registered under the Companies Acts of 1990, In line with the policies of the Nigerian service provision. The company core area of operation is to provide a broad spectrum of services ranging from Engineering, Pipeline & Flowline Construction / Repairs, Facility piping and maintenance, Wellhead & Christmas tree maintenance and servicing, Composite wrap technology, Equipment & Offshore/Marine Supplies, etc.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Field Operations Supervisor (PACO Northbank)

Location: Delta
Employment Type: Full-time
Start Date: 1st March 2024

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure performance assurance and proactive health checks of the associated components of the PAS, SIS and Fire & Gas Systems (Point Gas Detector).
  • Ensure periodic health checks on Human Machine Interface workstations and Servers. Systems fault diagnosis and recovery.
  • Access and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); Cause and Effects Matrix (C&E); Process Flow Scheme (PFS); Functional Logic Diagram (FLD); Instrument Loop Drawings (ILD) and Process Engineering Flow Scheme (PEFS) required for fault tracing and issues resolutions.
  • Work closely with service Contractor(s) towards safe delivery of vendor-based maintenance jobs.
  • Initiate and follow up with spares procurement towards expedited delivery for maintenance execution.
  • Ensure technical integrity of assets through Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities, quality assurance and performance standard verification of safety critical equipment
  • Technically support Operations personnel towards plant safe operations.
  • Ensure field instrumentation availability and reliability towards meeting business targets on hydrocarbon processing and export operations.
  • Maintain Systems availability for the continuous operation of the Flow station and AGG facilities
  • Identifying critical spares and follow-up ordering and delivery.
  • Integrate with other disciplines to achieve Asset integrity on continuous basis.
  • Promotes site safety and continuous hazard identification, mitigation and close-out.
  • Other assignments for continuous improvements as exigent.

Requirements

  • Minumum of SSCE or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years as Instrumentation Technician in Oil and Gas industry with experience in Crude oil separation and Gas dehydration.
  • Experience in SPDC gas plant and flow station operations (Preferably Northbank Node) is also a strong added advantage.

Skills:

  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation system on Delta V DCS (Emerson) systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on Twister gas dehydration technology.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on Solar Turbines (Taurus 60, Centaur 40, and Mars 100) and Engines (Waukesha, Caterpillar etc)
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on Cameron/Howden/Siemens compressors.
  • Experience in various process control valves and ESD valves systems maintenance
  • Experience in Fire and Gas detection (Honeywell point and open path gas detectors, smoke detectors, Spectrex flame detectors etc) and suppression system maintenance (Turbine enclosure CO2 suppression system)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Alarm management and rationalization experience.
  • Experience in Safeguarding systems maintenance
  • Experience in Oil, NAG and AG facilities operations

Soft Skills (Added advantage):

  • Perform basic computer related activities.
  • Knowledge of worksite hazard mgt and permit to work systems.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Communication & teamworking.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Work Cycle

  • The work location is Swamp-field based accessible via the Helicopter and Boat.
  • The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
  • There is a standard 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off schedule.
  • The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
  • There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
  • Personnel may be required to work extended hours as need may arises.
