Job Description

  • The key purpose of this role is to control distribution operations in order to satisfy customer service level, maintaining high safety standard, while optimising the all OWN and 3PL assets and the department’s performance to meet standards and remain competitive.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Daily CORE pre planning handshake and integration with Planning and Expediting team
  • Daily fleet availability list submitted to CORE planning team before planning commences
  • Updates on truck tracking and intermitted reporting to BU and Zone as per MCRS requirements
  • Order Execution Tracking & Escalation
  • Daily delivery capacity managed and Expected Volume Forecast managed
  • KPIs & PIs Update, Review And Problem Solving
  • Manage Time And Attendance For Own Driver
  • Manage 3PL and Dedicated transporters ensuring adherence to delivery plan execution
  • Verify daily 3rd Party shipment verification for payments
  • VPO/DPO Implementation
  • Daily Reports Compilation and adherence to targets explained and understood.  Course correct where necessary
  • Safety Monitoring Update And Recording
  • Daily interaction with Warehouse to ensure seamless loading and dispatching of delivery vehicles
  • Compliance to SCL(Supervisor Checklists
  • Daily Driver Debriefing
  • SAP transactions for dispatching of vehicles where necessary executed
  • SAP Master data management – keeping all relevant master data updated daily
  • Driver shortages and breakages managed and investigated daily
  • Customer engagement and trade visits
  • 3PL contractors management
  • Refusals Modulation
  • Driver score card managed daily and safety non compliances addressed and managed
  • Driver score card managed daily and safety non compliances addressed and managed
  • Daily Review of PIs for direct reports
  • Adherence to  POC /Route Visits plan
  • Conduct OWDs & Audits
  • Driver one on one (Performance review)
  • Customer and driver Master data update.

Control Distribution Performance:

  • Control delivery schedules.
  • Assure product quality
  • Analyze and respond to distribution performance measures
  • Leverage customer relationships.
  • Monitor fleet availability.
  • Support Sales function
  • Ensure full adherence to delivery plan.

Perform Administration:

  • Apply administration systems and procedures.
  • Leverage information systems.
  • Ensure usage of digital tools for delivery
  • Ensure daily verification of completed shipments
  • Manage diesel recons to own and 3rd party drivers
  • Measure fuel consumption

Maintain a Safe and Healthy Work Environment:

  • Ensure application of safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment.
  • Always ensure road transport safety compliance with focus on managing driver working hours and speed limit adherence.

Optimise Team Performance:

  • Facilitate Team dynamics.

Profile

  • Min. of B.Sc./ B.Tech/HND in a related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Computer Literate
  • MS Office/Excel
  • Strong and assertive
