Role Summary

  • The role of a Finance Lead at Lipton Teas and Infusions in Nigeria is crucial in overseeing the financial operations and strategy of the company.
  • The Finance Lead is responsible for managing financial reporting, creating financial statements, analysing financial data, overseeing accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • They play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making, driving efficiency and profitability within the organization. Additionally, the Finance Lead works closely with senior management to develop and implement financial policies and procedures Controller that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Overall, the Finance lead at Lipton Teas and Infusions in Nigeria plays a vital role in maintaining financial stability and driving sustainable growth for the business.

Your Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and variances for management review.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, working closely with stakeholders to develop realistic financial targets.
  • Review financial forecasts and analyse budget vs. actual performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide budget guidance and support to other departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal control procedures.
  • Review and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate financial risks.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
  • Review and ensure robust policies around treasury, foreign exchange exposure and cash flow management.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR for talent acquisition and succession planning within the finance department.
  • Set performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and support professional development.
  •  Perform any other duties as may assigned by Head of Finance

Skills and Experience

  • Finance Degree, ACA or MBA highly valued.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in FMCG industry
  • Excellent IFRS accounting/reporting skills accompanied by strong analytical skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Experience in commercial finance within CPG or similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of implementing global accounting policy controls framework
  • Strong fundamental business technical skills (including Excel and PowerPoint) and software applications (i.e., S4Hana)
