Tax Consultant at Catholic Relief Services (CRS)

Scope of Work for National Housing Fund Reconcilaition

  • Focusing on agriculture, emergency response and recovery, and health, CRS is helping to strengthen health care systems, Catholic Church partners, other community-based organizations, and government institutions. CRS’s current projects are improving the lives of more than 1.4 million Nigerians.

Primary Purpose

  • The objective of this assignment is to provide consultancy services for the processing of tax clearance certificates for all CRS staff including the staff in all sub-offices in Nigeria and Abuja for the year 2023 and to update the Catholic Relief Services profile as necessary for requirements with the applicable tax authority and submit all related documents for purposes and staff Tax clearance certificate for physical year 2023 to CRS.

Objectives

  • Processing of tax clearance certificates (TCCs) for every employee for the fiscal year 2023.
  • Update the CRS profile with the designated tax authority.
  • Processing tax identification numbers for employees without TINs when necessary.
  • Upon completion of the exercise, inform CRS with updated profile data, including user ID, password, and login credentials.
  • Assist in optimizing tax strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Submit a detailed final report on the whole assignment.

Required Qualifications
CRS seeks expressions of interest from consultant(s) / a firm of consultant with the following skills / qualifications in conducting a similar activity:

Technical Requirements:

  • Previous experience conducting a similar task.
  • Professional certifications and eligibility to perform services.
  • Adequate work plan that details work to be performed and Leadtime to complete it.
  • Excellent networking skills with private and public sector institutions
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to conduct discussions with a diversity of people.

Payment Schedule

  • Payment will be disbursed as per activity schedules, submission of completed & verifiable report upon completion of agreed deliverables.
  • Please note that CRS will deduct and remit to the relevant tax authority a 5% or 10% withholding Tax from the total consultancy fees for individuals or organizations in accordance with the Nigerian Tax Law.

Deadline: Friday; 29th March, 2024 (COB).
