Job Title: Advocacy and Campaign Officer

The Opportunity

  • Plan International Nigeria with other partners will be working to support education and youth empowerment in North-West Nigeria by providing youth, in particular girls in rural underserved and nomadic communities, with access to inclusive gender and conflict-sensitive equitable quality education and skill development.
  • The project, Accelerating Basic Education and Livelihood Opportunities for Children and Youth in North Western Nigeria, will also support the government’s efforts to address the challenge of out-of-school Children and Youth (OOSCY) through the institutionalisation of Accelerated Basic Education Programme (ABEP) 1 in the 3 project states.
  • It will, in addition, support the efforts of the federal and respective state governments to empower youth with job creative skills through vocational training as well as address the barriers that girls and women face to access education and livelihood opportunities.
  •  The project will, as part of its strategy, mobilise relevant stakeholders, and influence powerholders and all individuals, groups, institutions and agencies to ensure equitable access to education for the Nigerian child. It is against the background of the above that the position of Advocacy & Campaigns officer is created.

About You

  • We are looking for applicant with University Degree or equivalent in Education, Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields.
  • The candidate should have at least minimum of 3 years working experience in advocacy and campaign roles as well as experience in stakeholder management, mobilisation, and motivation to take action.
  • S/he should possess experience in influencing actions with good knowledge of community engagement, mobilization and mobilization for joint advocacy and campaign actions.
  • The candidate should also have a Knowledge of youth work, youth groups and formations and their organising in the country.
