Description

  • Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), as part of its social investment initiative in education, invites applications from interested and qualified Basic Six public primary school pupils, for its 2024 Post Primary Scholarship Award.
  • The Scheme seeks to support high-performing Basic Six pupils through secondary school education.
  • NLNG is committed to building an inclusive scholarship program and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, including Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).

Who Can Apply?

  • Must be an indigene of any of the NLNG host communities in Rivers State.
  • Must be in Basic Six and schooling in a public primary school in Rivers State.
  • Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship award, bursary, or grant from any other organisation.
  • Must not be more than 12 years of age.
  • Must not be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relation of staff of Nigeria LNG Limited.

Criteria for Award

  • Be a Basic 6 pupil in a public primary school in Rivers State.
  • Have a provisional admission from any of NLNG partner schools below:
    • Hallel College (Boarding) Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt
    • Archdeacon Brown Secondary School Woji, Port Harcourt
    • Christie Toby Education Centre, Iriebe.
  • Provide his/her Basic 4, Basic 5, and Basic 6 result sheets.
  • Provide an attestation letter stamped and signed by the Headmaster or Headmistress of his/her current school (the contact telephone number of the headmaster/headmistress must be stated in the letter).
  • Provide an indigene confirmation letter signed by the CDC Chairman or Chief in his/her community.
  • Provide a letter of identification from his/her Local Government Council.
  • Provide a recent passport-sized photograph without glasses (photo taken not earlier than January 2024).
  • Provide a birth certificate issued by the Nigeria Population Commission (NPC).

The Application Procedure

  • Interested candidates should click on the link above to apply.
  • Go to the “Social Performance” menu to select “Education” from the drop-down menu.
  • Then click on the PPSS Scholarship Application Scheme image under the Related Links Section of the page to access the application portal.
  • Click on “Register Here” to create a profile and thereafter, use the created username and password to commence the application process.

Note

  • All the documents mentioned above must be uploaded. Incomplete attachments will lead to disqualification of the application.
  • Applicants must fill in valid contact details (email address and telephone number) as these will be used to communicate the status of the application.
  • Applicants are advised to check their email boxes regularly for information on the status of their application.
  • Application will be disqualified for falsification of documents and non-adherence to advertised criteria.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for the Selection Test.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

Additional Notes:

  • Selection test will be paper based at designated Test Centres in Port Harcourt and Bonny, in Rivers State.
  • People with Disabilities are encouraged to apply.

  • A reasonable adjustment is a change that must be made to remove or reduce a disadvantage related to an applicants disability when applying for this scholarship.
