Job Title: Account Payments & Expense Management Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • To execute on and monitor daily, weekly and monthly transactions, ensuring that all creditors are paid within the agreed/ set timelines with a view to maintain appropriate balance on working capital management of the company.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will report to Lead, Accounts Payable and Expense Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of weekly payment forecast. Processing of payments weekly – local and foreign vendors. Track progress against budgets within established finance systems and report variances to more senior colleagues
  • Payroll processing: Produce accurate reports by collecting data from standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Assists colleagues to get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
  • Extract and combine data to generate standard financial reports.
  • Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, and referring the most complex issues to others.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedures.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media

Requirements
Educational Qualification(s):

  • First Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics or Finance-related field.

General Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or related field preferably in Consulting, Financial Institution or FinTech company.
