Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on .NET development and expertise in Point of Sale (POS) integrations and card processing.
- As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our business and merchant solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of .NET technologies, POS integrations, and card processing to ensure seamless and secure transactions for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of backend systems for our business and merchant solutions using .NET technologies.
- Develop and maintain APIs and microservices to facilitate smooth communication between frontend applications and backend systems.
- Collaborate with POS vendors to integrate and optimize point-of-sale solutions.
- Implement and maintain POS integrations for switching and processing, ensuring compatibility with a variety of hardware and software configurations.
- Utilize deep knowledge of card processing to design and implement secure and efficient payment processing systems.
- Implement and maintain interfaces with card networks and payment gateways to enable seamless transactions.
- Architect scalable and high-performance backend solutions to handle the dynamic and transaction-heavy nature of business/merchant applications.
- Optimize code and infrastructure to ensure low-latency responses for critical transactions.
- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive financial data.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to payment processing.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of backend systems.
- Maintain thorough documentation of APIs, integrations, and system architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Must have completed NYSC)
- Proven experience (4+ years) in backend development using .NET technologies.
- Expertise in POS integrations, including experience working with POS vendors and hardware.
- Strong background in card processing and payment gateways.
- Experience with scalable and high-availability backend systems.
- Knowledge of security principles and best practices in financial applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
