The Polytechnic of Sokoto State was established by the Sokoto state Government vides law No.2 of 2002. It could be recalled that the former Sokoto state established polytechnics at Birnin-kebbi and Talata Mafara wich were lost to present Kebbi and Zamfara States in 1991 and 1996 respectively.
On behalf of the Governing Council of this Institution, we wish to inform the general public that applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of:
Job Title: Rector
Location: Sokoto
Duties
- The Rector is the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer of the Polytechnic.
- He is responsible to the Polytechnic Governing Council for ensuring the fulfillment of the objectives of the Polytechnic and for maintaining and promoting efficiency and good discipline in the Polytechnic.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidates should have a very good overall performance with record of Academic and Administrative competence as well as concrete evidence of contribution to the advancement of knowledge service to the community.
- Possession of PhD, Membership of professional Bodies and Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
- Candidates must possess at least a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or any other relevant field offered conventionally by the Polytechnic from a recognized University plus at least Fifteen (15) years of Teaching and Administrative experience
Terms of Appointment
- Successful candidates shall be appointed fora term of four (4) years in the first instance and may be eligible for reappointment for a second term of four (4) years, subject to satisfactory performance and good conduct.
Condition of Service
- Condition of Service are as applicable to the post of Rector of the Polytechnic of Sokoto State.
