Job Title: Accounting Assistant II

Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-042
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Recruitment Type: National (3-year renewable contract)
Contract: 3-year renewable contract

Duties
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Prepare and review of financial statements;
  • Check, process and report on returns and justification of funds granted to IITA;
  • Raise journal for adjustments where necessary on various accounts and loading same on oracle;
  • Attend to queries raised by Budget Officers on projects; Assist in checking of Cashiers’ cash balance as scheduled; Update, review and reconcile bills receivables from donors with the total grant income of projects;
  • Prepare station imprest on regular basis;
  • Develop, maintain and analyze budget;
  • Prepare periodic accounting report;
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related result as needed;
  • Perform all other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc/HND in Accounting or Business Management, ICAN skill levelwould be an added advantage
  • The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years related experience in a related role of a large organization.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Be honest, trustworthy and hard working
  • Be friendly and be a team player.
  • Be able to read and interpret MOUs from donor.
  • Be willing to work for long hours as the need arises, articulate and able to work with less supervision.

Job Title: Project Administrative Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Recruitment Type: National (3-year renewable contract)

Duties
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Coordinate all project technical reporting to donors;
  • Liaise with scientist to ensure that project technical reports are promptly received by sending email reminders to them periodically;
  • Submit technical reports to donors in a timely manner;
  • Communicate technical reporting feedback from donors back to scientists and ensure they are incorporated into report as necessary;
  • Develop a tracking system to track the submission of technical reports to donors;
  • Ensure that all technical reports follow the correct format specified by the donor and follow up with donors on new templates as necessary;
  • Maintain an updated donor technical reporting template repository;
  • Facilitate, review and edit project technical reports;
  • Follow up with scientists to address specific issues raised by donors.
  • Upload submitted technical reports to donors and both technical/financial reports from partners on ProMIS and ensure that the database is up to date;
  • Upload and update partners agreement;
  • Support in data generation of project administration related information.
  • Retrieve information from both paper files and database to resolve queries;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc/HND in Business Administration, Project Management or related field with minimum of four (4) years experience performing similar roles with experience working in a research environment.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Have good grasp of project management processes;
  • Be able to communicate excellently in English both oral and written;
  • Have good analytical skills;
  • Have excellent computer skills;
  • Have good sense of judgment;
  • Have ability to work under pressure and with minimal Supervision.

Job Title: Laboratory Analyst

Duties
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Carry out quality control and comprehensive physical, chemical and microbiological analysis of raw water, potable water, swimming pool water and Sewage water at Water treatment plant;
  • Carry out jar test to assist the operators to determine appropriate chemical dosage of raw water;
  • Assist in determining quality of chemicals before purchase;
  • Initiate purchase of laboratory equipment and reagents;
  • Team up with the operators to carry out operation of the plants;
  • Assist in generating laboratory reports on daily weekly and monthly basis;
  • Perform any their duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc/HND in Science Laboratory Technology or related field with minimum of three (3) years working experience performing related roles.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Have good knowledge of laboratory analysis of water.
  • Have good knowledge of water treatment plant, swimming and sewage system.
  • Be honest and hardworking with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be a good team player.

Job Title: Automotive Service Manager

Duties
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Provide technical and administrative leadership to the Automotive and Transport units of IITA-FMS;
  • Possess in-depth technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts used in modern passenger and light utility vehicles, e.g. Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi and others totaling about 300 vehicles;
  • Ensure the workshop is equipped with proper maintenance tools and upgrade where necessary;
  • Review existing workshop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and update as necessary;
  • Certify road worthiness checklist of all vehicles before they leave workshop after repair;
  • Oversee workshop staff/supervisors’ activities to make sure correct repair procedures are followed;
  • Periodically review and update inventory stock of essential spare parts needed.
  • Prepare and review service history of all IITA vehicles and make sure the preventive maintenance schedules is followed on all vehicles.
  • Prepare and update the Master List and particulars of all IITA vehicles used in Nigeria;
  • Exercise proper budget control in the operation of automotive and transport unitto make sure expenditure and income are balanced;
  • Review and advise renewal of driving licenses held by official drivers and private users at the Headquarters;
  • Perform any otherduties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum of ten (10) years experience performing similar role in a structured environment
  • Possession of relevant higher qualificationsand membership of Council of Registered Engineering (COREN) is an added advantage.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Be familiar with source of genuine parts and be able to identify them.
  • Be familiar with correct diagnostics repair procedure for different model/makes of vehicles.
  • Have excellent managerial and supervisory skills to handle the entire auto service staff.
  • Have good time management and communication skills.
  • Must be well versed in the use of diagnostics tools and modules used to identify faults quickly in order to keep down time to a minimum.
