With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. On average, our farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Nigeria Logistics and Procurement Specialist

Location: Niger
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • We are piloting our innovative approach to improving farmer livelihoods in Niger State. In 2021, we plan to grow from 1,800+ farmers, while investing in systems, people, and processes to allow us to grow to 10,000 farmers by 2022.
  • The Logistics & Procurement Coordinator reports to the Systems Associate; manage transportation, warehousing and last-mile distribution of the products we sell to farmers while trying out new approaches to ensure the pilot can scale to +10,000 farmers within the next two years.

Responsibilities
Procurement:

  • End-to-end vendor screening, selection, procurement and relationship management, ensuring that all One Acre Fund procurement guidelines are followed.
  • Support forecasting and procurement of over +300 Metric Tonnes in products for the 2021 season.

Warehousing:

  • Manage and track all inventory on SAP and internal data-management systems
  • Plan and prepare warehouse layouts to ensure effective security and efficient storage

Coordinate the delivery to and receipt of inputs at the warehouse:

  • Manage and train the Warehouse Coordinator on One Acre Fund logistics policies and oversee hiring and coordination of warehouse casuals.
  • Conduct monthly warehouse inventory audits

Last-mile Delivery:

  • Assess delivery sites in our farmers’ communities and schedule delivery across 20+ rural locations.
  • Maintain year-round inventory and delivery of products to support sales through local markets
  • Recommend changes and improvements to current pilot systems

Qualifications

  • Commitment to the One Acre Fund mission of alleviating food insecurity in Nigeria
  • Willingness to look for problems and solve them collaboratively
  • University degree in either supply chain, procurement or logistics and 2 years of work experience OR 6+ years proven work experience managing supply chain, procurement or logistics of a company
  • Experience in a supervisor role, managing small teams
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, to include MS Excel for tracking Goals and inventory management; experience with SAP or similar software
  • Language: English and Hausa Preferred.

Job Title: Nigeria Customer Engagement Officer

Location: Minna, Niger
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role
As a Customer Engagement Officer, you’ll be the voice of One Acre Fund. You’ll take care of incoming customer calls and also conduct outbound surveys. You’ll report to the Systems Associate.

Responsibilities
Inbound Calls:

  • Receive and respond to client phone calls and log calls in the Customer Engagement Tracker (perform ticketing when electronic workflow management systems will be implemented).
  • Work with external departments to find solutions on claims/requests in case you don’t have an immediate response

Outbound Calls/Surveys:

  • Make out-going calls and conduct surveys as requested by Global, Business Operations, and other departments.

Short Message Service (Text Messages) Blasts:

  • Review/ QC Short Message Service blast (text messages) request received through the google form.
  • Prepare and implement Short Message Service (text messages) blasts when needed.

Data Analysis And Reporting:

  • Write Hotline reports as updates for stake-holders
  • Occasionally be called upon to do some light analysis of the data coming into the hotline so that the program can use this information.

Case Management:

  • Investigate all cases of farmer complaints through phone calls to One Acre Fund
  • Prioritize weekly cases to follow up and prepare a travel schedule
  • Investigate and acquire relevant documentation including budgets and records for farmer refund payments, inputs delivery documents to detect any anomalies and errors and launch investigations

Field Visit Activities:

  • Schedule visits to investigate cases with Field Managers, Field officers and Group Leaders when needed
  • Meet with impacted and affected parties and obtain written statements and evidence such as default acknowledgment forms and reports from relevant parties
  • Arrange any follow-up appointments to help with the investigation

Overall:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients phoning the Hotline
  • Convey information in clear terms to callers any changes in product and procedures

Qualifications
We are looking for a professional with a background in finance or a related field, and a long-term passion for sustainable agricultural development. Candidates who fit the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree with 1 – 3 years work experience.
  • Relevant work experiences including Business, Banking or an International Non-Ggovernmental Organization
  • Language: Fluent in English and Hausa (mandatory) and understands the local communities and cultures

  • Knowledge about One Acre Fund products and services

Job Title: Rwanda Finance and Strategy Manager

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated person, who is dedicated to social impact, to lead our Rwanda Finance & Strategy department. The team is made up of 10 professionals offering financial and strategic program support to country leadership across all business units:

  • You will sit on the Rwanda program steering committee, report to the Country Director, and directly manage – 3 team members.
  • When not focused on team management, or steering committee work, you will spend time on strategic and financial projects of the highest importance to the program.

This is a full-time career-track role within One Acre Fund Rwanda’s leadership team. With so many varied projects happening across the team, no day is ever the same.

Responsibilities

  • Team management and coaching to ensure team and program goals are met. The Finance & Strategy Team is split into the following responsibilities which you will manage:
  • Strategic Projects: Strategic projects to support the program to increase farmer impact and efficiency, solve complex operational and strategic issues, and support in scoping out new ventures (5-6 full-time staff)
  • Specific projects depend on program priorities but range from quantitative modeling to primary research. Recent examples include running a partnership trial for market access services, building financial models for new products, or creating a new farmer communication strategy.
  • Financial Strategy: Budgeting, financial reporting, strategic finance projects such as financial modeling, creating investment proposals, tax efficiency projects (2 full-time staff)
  • Product Strategy & Management: A new team dedicated to maximizing sales and farmer impact, ensuring strong supply chains and partnerships, and improving customer service for each product we sell (3 full-time staff)
  • Full oversight of the country budget and investments
  • Program-wide strategic project prioritization (and sometimes new project creation and scoping)
  • Coordinate resource allocation for strategic projects
  • Create Rwanda program annual goals and monitor results
  • Run at least one strategic or financial project yourself at any one time.
  • Sit on the Rwanda program steering committee, to present and give feedback on wider program strategies and challenges.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Work experiences: We are targeting strategy, management consulting, and finance professionals (or people with similar experience), who have 5 yrs + professional experience working in strategy or large strategic project management, with a strong foundation of financial knowledge and quantitative skills. We are looking for leadership experience, particularly in roles that demonstrate team building and relationship management.
  • Technical skills: Advanced in Microsoft/Google Suite packages, especially Excel. Experience with other professional programs (e.g. R, STATA) is a plus.
  • Language: English.
