Job Title Young Professional Development Programme – MERL Trainee

Location: Lagos

The Programme

  • The Young Professional Development Programme is a project aimed at raising emerging leaders  in the development sector in Africa.
  • It is designed to equip fresh graduates with the right knowledge, skills, tools and essential training needed to accelerate their career development, professional potential and opportunities for global exposure. In the end the full potential of the individual is attained.
  • This programme is one of  LEAP Africa’s premier innovations, and it is solely targeted at refining the talents in young graduates.
  • It is a well structured 12 months post NYSC on-the-job training experience, with hands-on supervisory mentorship that builds the young graduate’s key strengths, equipping them with the capacity to create positive and lasting impact  in communities across Africa. Hence the skills gap between school learning and practical real world implementation will be bridged by this programme.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • Support the process of online and offline data collection for baseline and end line, registration data in training and youth engagement events, support the deployment of participant feedback forms both online and offline and also reporting on a daily basis and weekly basis.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Support Monitoring efforts for online and offline training activities across the learning platforms.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as needed.
  • Support quality assurance by monitoring M&E processes during physical training programmes and conduct interviews.
  • Consistently follow up with the wider team on data collection regarding indicators and impacts. Respond to ad hoc M&E support requests from program teams.

  • Support in note-taking in various meetings held within and outside the team.
  • Support the deployment of baseline and end line assessment sheets for data entry and monitor the data entry process.

Eligibility
Criteria for selection:

  • Minimum of B.Sc Degree from an accredited university.
  • Must have completed the NYSC programme with not more than 2 years working experience.
  • Not more than 27 years.
  • Candidates should be based in Lagos and able to commit to 12 months at LEAP Africa.
  • An individual with strong commitment to social change, a history of volunteering is an added advantage.
  • Innovation driven, rather than embracing status quo
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with passion for excellence.
  • Engagement in extracurricular activities in school or community is an added advantage.

The required candidate Should possess the Following:

  • Proficiency in the G-Suite, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in conducting desk and field research, data gathering, and analysis.
  • Excellent writing skills, oral and written communication skills.
  • Good Data analysis skills in either SPSS, NVIVO, or any other software.
  • Highly organized and attentive to details
  • Design skills is an added advantage.
