We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter

Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time


  • To ensure the kitchen areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Supporting the chefs during service, cleaning and returning essential cooking equipment
  • Working with theteam to ensure a quick and clean turnaround of washing up
  • Taking responsibility for emptying bins and recycling, including looking after the main bin area
  • Cleaning down after service and ensuring all surfaces and floors are spotless
  • Making sure outside areas are clean, tidy and swept, free of cigarettes and rubbish and perfect for guests
  • Assisting chefs with basic prep as neededAssist in food preparation and cooking under the direction of the kitchen staff
  • Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients
  • Help with meal preparation and plating
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
  • Cleaning all dishes, work stations, cooking equipment, and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Washing, chopping, shredding, and grating ingredients for subsequent use by the chef.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors, as required.
  • Assisting with the unloading of deliveries.
  • Storing ingredients according to prescribed food safety regulations.
  • Assisting with the monitoring of inventory.
  • Reporting all damaged or faulty equipment to the kitchen manager.
  • Packaging customers’ leftover food upon request.
  • Cleaning trash cans and disposing on a regular basis.


  • Interested candidates should possess an OND qualification with 3-5 years experience.
  • Previous experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods
  • Familiarity with culinary terminology and equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
