Job Description
  • The Business Development manager will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the Company’s market penetration strategy as well as maximizing and proactively seeking quality market leads and meeting revenue targets.
Requirements / Skills
  • The Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree and/or relevant professional educational qualification. In addition the candidate must possess:
    • Minimum of three (3) to Seven (7) or more years professional experience in for-profit business, preferably in the oceanographic or maritime sectors.
    • Ability to prioritize duties, maintain an organized work station and work with minimal supervision;
    • Proven and Strong entrepreneurial skills and ability to meet Corporate Targets.
    • Exposure to sales lead tracking tools preferred.
    • MBA or EMBA preferred;
    • Demonstrable experience and track record in Business Development in Marine and Oil & Gas Sector;
    • Experience in Business dealing with major local and global clients in Maritime and Oil & Gas Sector;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be assertive and persistent;
    • Ability to establish rapport with customers, as well as communicate with customers in a friendly, professional manner;
    • Solid closing skills and ability to build value added relationships;
    • Experience with relationship selling, customer prospecting, and demonstrated success in sales;
    • Self-starter; self-reliant and confident in capabilities;

Roles / Responsibilities
The ideal Candidate will be:
  • Responsible for the development of business activities relating to marine and cargo inspection services within the company;
  • Develop and implement business strategy for the Maritime and Oil & Gas industry;
  • Preparation and analyzing of PPMC, PPPRA and NPA reports;
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction;
  • Prepare contracts/bids ensuring adherence to established legal rules and guidelines;
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs;
  • Expand the operations of the firm beyond Nigeria;
  • Provide weekly strategy reports outlining core goals, achievements, and key metrics.
  • Identify Business opportunities and market potentials locally and internationally;
  • Develop business Proposals, Bids, and secure contracts from local and International Clients;
  • Source for jobs and opportunities within our core areas: marine services, cargo survey/inspection services from private organization e.g private depots, financial institutions (banks and insurance), etc.
  • Source for Jobs and opportunities from public sector organisations including but not limited to government organizations like PPMC, PPPRA, NPA, etc.
  • Promote company image to be attractive to international clients and local clients as the preferred cargo survey /inspection service company in Nigeria;
